deciding to stop drinking , partying, and all the other nasty irresponsilbe things I do. I changed my phone numbers, only family and a best friend or 2 can contact me now..i was getting out of control and for someone like me who has self-control issues, my only way to make a change is to completely cut off everything and everyone that is negative from my life...i gotta get back on track.:worried:

good luck with it bro. only time will tell - just take it one day at a time. it may suck at first, but after a while you will begin to see how much better life can be.

Move. It's the best answer, start over somewhere else..(I believe you metioned wanting to move anyway)

Best of luck bro, I went through the same thing in my early-mid twenties. :)

I agree with pitbull. I moved almost 4 years ago from New York to get away from the negativity, drama, and this fucked up person I allowed into my life. Anyway, one of the top 5 greatest decisions I've made in my life so far.

Take it one day at a time. Good luck and best wishes with everything.

well im currently working on my resume and the only thing keeping me here is I have a pretty good job , if i can find something almost as good i would move tommorrow...my only pre-requisite , is its not in the middle of nowhere and its warm year around (im tired of these northeast winters)...thats it.

Check the D.C. area. Check monster.com and washingtonpost.com

With regard to salaries . . it's about the same as the NYC area. Rent is about the same, however, you get more for your money. After 4.5 years in Syracuse and living most of life in NYC, I wanted to go someplace milder too. But still had a decent nightlife. I live in Northern VA (15 min - outside of D.C.), it isn't the middle of nowhere and the winters are mild in comparison to the northeast.

Bro, you're just a fuckin' kid, how did you manage to fuck up your back this early? I was in the Army six years and I never got any serious injuries....

What kind of things can you not do anymore that precludes you from being in the Army?

I injured my back while in the Army, and of course i didnt mention anything so it kept getting worse. Seen numerous specialists, had MRIS, XRays, Blood Tests etc. and nothing has come up. I've had pain for 2 years now and theres been no improvement.

Back marches were the killer. I passed out while doing a 10km because the pain became too unbearable, and thats when they found out i had a problem.

It will come and go, but anything can really bring it on. Sitting or standing for long periods of time etc. for example. And at the worst stages i can barely move and cant do anything but lay down.

I could just drug myself up with pain killers, but you gotta be fully focused in the Army, and wouldnt want to jeopardise anything important. This is why i had to get out.

You should have gone to your medic as soon as you noticed the pain. If it's not showing in the X-rays or MRI's then it's probably a muscle spasm or tendonitis. They would give you muscle relaxants for that, and painkillers perhaps. I worked with alot of soldier who were taking Percocet for various ailments, it's really not a big deal in the Army.

i tried the same thing you are doing for awhile. once i got out of high school i started drinking alot more, everyday to be exact. then started doin sissy drugs more, then started doing coke. thats when it went pretty downhill. wasnt doing shit with my life except livin to get fucked up the next day. tried to quit..was still around the same people. got sick and tired of it one day so i said fuck this shit. i hate nothing to loose, so i packed my shit up with a friend and moved 900 miles away. best thing i have ever done and the rest is history.
