Lost finale..... WTF was that about?

It was Jack's sideways world where he met all that mattered to him before he left purgatory. Could be 50 years in future or 3 but you can tell because Aaron in the real world would be much older but Jack only remembers him as a baby. Hurley is left to protect the island and the others went back to present time on the plane.

That doesn't explain why Richard, Miles, the pilot, etc.. were not there.

Anybody have fucking time warner as their service? I thought it was just local but apparently the crush of people watching one channel sunday night was causing video lag.....I almost threw something at my tv. It was unwatchable. They had a little ticker at the bottom saying "so sorry, we're experienceing technical difficulties please stand by". Please stand by? I could have skull fucked someone that night. It's not just because of Lost, that service is such utter trash...I can't wait for Uverse to be in my area. So they're replaying the finale saturday night.....awesome, while they're at it they should also play the superbowl a week later. God I fucking hate time warner.

I managed to watch to about an hour in before the lag became too obnoxious and I was starting to lose it. I lost some of the dialogue right around when Desmond went into the hole. I saw that he moved something...did they ever fully explain what he did? And did they explain the "parallel universe" going on?

They werent as big a part of Jack's life, I'd assume.

I thought the ending fit well.

I think it was obvious it would come down to Jack vs Locke (imposter). When you think about it, the entire series jack and locke were the opposites and constantly at conflict with one another. I sort of expected them to be the new jacob / man in black. Even though technically locke was the man in black. (did they ever say his name?)

secondly, when jack was handing hurley the water... I sort of half expected to jump forward and grab the bottle, gulp it down, beat his chest and go MEEEEE BABBBYYYY!!!!!

And why Hurley out of all people?

Didnt Hurley kinda swap with Ben at the end?

I have not watched a ton of episodes... Hell, I may have seen like less than 8 total.

However, I get the gist of the show, and I think yeah, the big dude, appeared to take the lead protector position... or something like that.

The base, not the specifics of the story appears, like the Tempest.

I'm gonna rewatch the series on vids, later...

And why Hurley out of all people?

Hurley had a better connection to the island...with the numbers and the fact that he was the only one who could see Jacob.

Nan, Hurley made Ben his number 2...kinda like how Richard Alpert was Jacob's number 2.

If EF chat were lost...
LOL

Way, 2 much free time today. damn.

Again, I saw a lil more than a handful, however, I'm extremely impressed with the writing, and the capacity of the writers to keep the theme without excess...

Why would they answer all the q's and haver as happy ending? Just like the sopranos. That way - it sets up a possible film pitch, reunion show or a another series.

Keeping options open baby, it's all about the options.

Was anything said about the man in black after he died as Locke? I'm assuming he didn't really die and he's still stuck on the island. So now Hurley's gotta deal with him? lol

They weren't as important to Jack when he was living and finding what he was destined to be do/be.

Then Penny should have never been there.

And Michael/Walt should have.

What was the Man in Black's name? And what did the numbers mean?

He did die... and if he did... why does Hurley have to protect it and from who?

No, when Desmond unplugged the cork, MiB/Locke became mortal, so when he died, he died.

I think everyone died at the start of the show when the plane crashed. If you're in purgatory you aren't really alive. In the end, its when they were finally ready to move on.

Purgatory being a final test for the soul...are you going to be good and go to heaven or bad and go to hell.

The authors say "the Island was real". Only the "sideways" reality in Season 6 was an after-death construct.

the whole time I thought that all of them were dead....you guys shone some light on it for me

How about that island being shown underwater? I dont remember the season it happened

That happened in the alternate timeline after the detonation of the A-bomb.

wtf is a "sideways" reality? Christ what a clusterfuck of a show. I watched about about half of the first season, then a total of about 6 episodes over the next few seasons.

I'm not feelin the "subject to interpretation" show endings that seem to be in vogue these days. I too am still vexed about what the whole sideways reality was.

Well, they had flashforwards and flashbacks, season six was considered a "flashsideways" so people refer to that alternate reality as the "sideways" world.

Losties are a weird bunch.
