Lost a few titles..........

I did not even know I had been robbed.........again..........until today. I was looking for my boat title so I went to get my little strong box.

Someone had jimmied off of the lock and the following titles are missing along with cash:

Boat

Truck

Snowmobile

ATV


What the hell do I do now? This looks like a trip through hell dealing with government bureaucracy(sp).

1.) Why do you keep your strong box where someone has access to it?

2.) Ever heard of a safe deposit box?

Well who has access to the closet and would have stolen it? No need to go through the bullshit if you get them back.

It was in a locked closet. I used to take a lot of vacations until this damned recession.

Did you buy these items new? If so my first instinct would be to contact the dealer and explain the situation, maybe they could then send some documentation that you could take to the BMV to help speed the process along.

Also report it to the police.

Only the boat was bought new.

I'm sure lots of people have lost titles due to theft, fire or what not. Has to be a process for getting new ones.

Go to DMV (Tag agent here) & request"lost" or duplicate titles. There will be a fee, but unless someone has attempted to reregister the vehicles in their name, there shouldn't be a problem.
