loperamide against loose stools?

I am in a winter bulking cycle right now, and I have trouble in the bowel section. My bowel movements have increased, so I think not all the food is being absorbed. I am shitting massive heaps of crap 3 times a day, and it is very loose, pardon my French.
Is loperamide, an OTC medication against diarrhea, in a low dosage a good solution for slowing down the bowel movements? BTW, my carbs always come from whole grain stuff, veggies and fruits. Should I cut down my fiber intake?

Good question.
Sometimes when i sip a very very huge post workout liquid meal (whey+alumin+maltodextrin+oatmeal and so on) i also take a loperamide tablet to prevent from get a diahrrea minutes after.

Bump for experts coments

Yes, it is a very good agent for slowing down the intestines. A gastro told me to take one of the advanced tablets in the morning with breakfast and nothing the rest of the day. I don't think I would make this a long-term practice. I would suggest thinking about changing your diet a bit. I don't know how much it effects the liver and kidneys.

The answer to the question is yes. If you move very fast down there, then take two. If things are just a bit faster than you want, than take one. It is very good stuff. The advanced formula reduces gas in the intestines.

Good luck.

It is Imodium in the US. Get the advanced formula as it cuts back on the gas. You can get it everywhere from grocery stores to Walgreens.

It is loperamide + simeticona.

The version with the simeticona or (simethicone sp?) is the advanced version which reduces intestinal gas.

Yeah, I remember the name imodium. But here the generic stuff is 2x cheaper. Is simeticona against farts? My colleagues and gf would appreciate a decrease in my sulfuric gas production.

Yes, the simeticona reduces/absorbs gas. You can buy that alone with out the loperamide.
