Looking to cut and maintain strength....jumprope?

I'd love to do morning cardio before eating, and will eventually but work commmitments don't allow me right now, and I feel like 30min of cardio after lifting is counter-productive....What do you guys think about jumping rope for 30-45 seconds after my set for about 40% of my sets while lifting a few times a week? As long as I take a minute or two to rest after I jump, my strenght seems fine and my heartrate is up my entire workout

IMHO, if you want to cut weight while maintaining strength, you should separate weights from cardio. Strength is best achieved/maintained by lifting while as fresh as possible (hence, long rests between sets, etc.). I'd worry about my heartrate while doing cardio and just worry about hitting numbers in the weightroom.

*edited to add that if time is a concern, etc. and this is the only way you can get your cardio in, then go for it. Do what works.

it is never possible to train and combine an effective and intensive workout of cardio and weightlifting !

you should ever concentrate to one of them on one day otherwise you have to replan your training or checking if your form of training couldn't be designed a lot more effective...
