Looking for good treadmill....help?

I'm looking to get a treadmill. Is it possible to get one for $1000 that I can run on? Looking at some reviews online they say you need a $2000 treadmill if you are a serious runner.
I will mostly be walking on it at an incline of 7-10 and the speed around 3.5-4.0 depneding on the machine I guess. I'd like to work my way back up to running for around 30-45 minutes. I weigh 228 lbs right now.
Anybody got any treadmill they would recommend? Thanks for any help.

Do a google seach for "craigslist Landice", browse through all the hits looking to see if any are in your city or nearby. Look for an L7 or L8 used. You might have to look for awhile, but you will definately find one for $1,000 or less. I paid $700 for an L7 cardio model. It really doesn't matter which L7 model you get, they are all built like tanks and will last forever.
I have also seen some sell on Ebay for sub-$1,000.

The ones we had at my college gym were like $10,000. The tracks on them were about $1,000, but they were the top of the line. Not sure what you're going to find in your price range new but you might check e-bay, craigslist, or go to gyms and see if any of them are getting rid of old equipment and will sell you one on the cheap.

Cheers,
