You will never see athiests band together.

So religion has it's advantages - mainly bringing people together. I've never seen a sunday athiest meeting or bbq.

well atheism also isn't an organized religion. as an atheist, I don't feel the need to find others to validate my thoughts... i'm confident that they make sense all by myself.

so when i get together for a "sunday meeting" (wtf?) or bbq, it's with people I love, and want to be with. not people who's beliefs have to be the same as mine.

Religion has goods, not only bads. I haven't seen athiests hold a fundraiser for a fellow athiest who needs a liver transplant. Maybe i'm wrong, but I sure haven't seen one.

Ask a Native American what life would be like without a religion/creator to believe in when things are tough. Where do athiests get their faith from? American Idol?

If barbarians came here, and started slaughtering americans left,right and center - there are a lot of athiests who would become religious pretty fucking quick, and would run to the nearest church for protection in 0.2 seconds.

btw: If u got shot and mugged and killed tomorrow on your way to the ATM - most likely it will be a guy who really isn't religious. People need to stop and realize that, just like humans, NOT ALL religions are the same.

First off, chances of that happening in the US are what <0.01%, chances of you being mugged by an athiest at the ATM are far higher. Lookup crime in religious areas of the country vs areas of the country not religious. If this country erupts into civil war - i'm busting my ass over to the bible belt areas. You can have fun in the inner-city.

What could you be inferring here? Human Discussion is 50% fact and 50% what people are trying to say between the lines. Remember your homework: post up crime stats in religious vs non-religious areas of the US.

If you're trying to say radical butcher oppressive murdering muslims in Iraq are the same as peaceful happy supportive law abiding Jews in LA - there's not really much I can do for you ma'am.

Some people in religion think they are above other people. they are just ignorant and should realize every person of any religion is equal.
