Liver problem

New member
I was recently diagnosed with hepatitis c. but have never really felt any discomfort in my liver. I was also recently put on HRT , 200mg test e a month. After my last injection a couple days later i noticed my liver was giving me problems, a little swollen and just had no energy for about a week. Now i'm feeling better and i was wondering if any of you guys thought this could be from the test or maybe just a symptom that happened to pop up at the same time. I had a shot of test the month before and had no problem, just wondered if maybe the test is hard on the liver. Its time for my next hrt and i hate to miss it as it really picks me up.

you need to ask your doctors that question. sorry to hear.

are you taking any liver protector? if not -you should, along with lots of water.

If your problems persist i would have a talk with the Dr.

Sorry to hear that bro. Hepatitis can and will likely dramatically impact how testosterone affects your liver. Is your HRT doc and your hep C doc one in the same or atleast know your complete situation?

I suggest you need to bridge any gaps between them. You hep C doctor needs to know you are on 200mg of test a month. Do you have a dull pain in your right side a few days after your HRT injection? Does your abdomen seem desended a few days after your hrt injection?

You liver may not be handling the stress it is under.

Liver protectors, lots of water (distilled is best - no toxins to further stress your liver) and tell your doctor the whole story if you have not already done so.

Also, you might want to go to a low or non-fat diet and eliminate simple sugars from your diet to help your liver out a little. Of curse, no alcohol.

doublebicep,
My regular dr sent me to a GI specialist for the hep c, and they both know all medications i take. The gi dr has only seen me once and has scheduled a colonoscopy next tues.(i'd rather kiss a mule square in the ass ) and i was not haveing that dull pain when i saw him, so i didn't mention it. I just was not sure how much stress the test put on my liver as it didn't give me any problem the first hrt i had. I guess i'm going to have to confer with my dr. as i seriously don't want to stop the test, but i don't want to feel like shit for a week every time i do it. Is the test e that hard on your liver, because i'm on a few medications and they never have bothered me and they are oral, seems like the test would be much easier on the liver.

Testosterone enanthate is broken down through the liver but is only slightly toxic when taken in a reasonable dose.

A deseased liver my not do well with any additional stress. Monitor you liver values very closly and frequently.

Water and liver sups. Forged Liver Support from http://needtobuildmuscle.com/ is one of the best out there and very fairly priced.

the best person you can ask about it is the doctor, i only do care for the patient but i don't diagnose.. :) only doctors can do a series of laboratory test for you to find out that's really the problem.

You need a biopsy. Not that big a deal. I had it done at U of Mich when
a test cycle kept the values high and I got a false positive.
Last time I did not tell Dr full truth. He probably thought I was a secret drunk.

My guess is as above ... liver already under stress.
However, injections are most kind as opposed to orals.
Drop down to 100 mg.

Its been about 3 wks since i really had any liver stress and it was time for my hrt. I did 200mg test e the other night and about 1 hr. after pinning i could tell liver was bloated feeling and a dull ache, but the next day everything went back to normal and really haven't had any problem since. Had a colonoscopy done last tues. and everything was good, as far as a biopsy i had one done about 30yrs. ago and unless they have changed the procedure i don't want to go thru that again it was pretty brutal. Dr appoint on the 18th for liver. By the way i asked Dr last tues' about hrt and he said that the test wouldn't affect the liver, but that really dosen't sound right to me.

It is not right. Out of context - he is wrong. It is moderately toxic to the liver. That is one reason TRT patients have their liver values monitored.

Let us know how you are doing in a week or so. If you have a desended or full gut feeling and a dull ache just below your ribs on your right side, your liver may be under stress.

You might notice it more when you are tired or even the day after a hard workout.
