Little math problem help please

I have 5 mL of 6% Acetic Acid and 5 mL deionized H20
I want 6 mL of .6% Acetic Acid

I am having trouble figuring this out, I've tried to take my self back to chem and bio lab but i was always terrible at dilutions I've tried lots of differnt ways to get the answer and every answer icomes out differently

come on math guys help a brother out

I dont get it! If you only have 5ML of 6% Acetic acid to begin with you cant get 6 ml out of that at the same percentage by adding water that I know of. Maybe I am missing something more a chemistry deal

im adding water so yes it will be more than 5mL, i dont want the same percentage i want.6% AA

Oh I missed a decimal the first time. You should ask Linux he will know he is a chemist!

To keep it absolutely simple 1/10 of a ml of 6% diluted with 5 9/10 (5.9ml) of H20 will give you .036 ml of pure AA in the final brew.

Here is the math:

each ML of AA contains .06ml of pure AA.

We need the final mixture to be 1/10 of that (.6%)

So for every ml we can simply take 1/10 of the original AA which was 6% and mix it with .9ml of H20 which will result in one ml of .6% AA

add .5ml of 6% solution to 4.5ml of water. you wont be able to get 6ml unless you have more water.

mac- i do have more water, but 5mL of solution will certainly do
btw took chem, ochem, and bio my fresh and soph years in college-no wonder my gpa went up when i switched majors from bio to exceresise science
