lipitor and var?

I'm currently taking lipitor and will be getting var soon. I kind of made the deal for var before I found out that I got a problem with my cholesterol. Obviously I know that var would not be a primo choice if I had high cholesterol and wasn't taking anything. My basic question is....will the lipitor hold the var in check in terms of spiking my cholesterol?

var generally speaking will not spike your total cholesterol numbers. what it will do is bring your HDL (the "good" cholesterol) into a very low range. In reality your cholesterol ratio (ldl /hdl, some use TC/HDL) is more important than your total cholesterol (TC). Will lipitor keep your ratio in an acceptable range? That is very hard to say but I would guess not. You could start it and get a chcek done 2 weeks in but to be honest with you I would not even take it given your current condition. Primo or Eq would be a better choice for you

thanks bro.....by the way, do you know why exactly var hits your good chol. so bad? Is there ANY way to keep it in check?

sorry, I don't know the exact mechanism that causes the decrease in HDL but I suspect that it has something to do with the aa17 configuration of the molecule and the fact that it is a dirivative of DHT. This is purely speculation on my part since winny has the same effect yet dbol is not as bad. To try to keep it in check when I am taking var I add some suppliments to my diet that can help. (policonol, niacin, green tea, nolvadex, 9G of omega 3 ED, silymarin) and lots of cardio. That in conjuction with your lipitor should help. But I will tell you, my last cycle with var I did all of the above and my HDL went from 82 down to 26 in 2 weeks at 30mg PD so the negative effects are pretty dramatic.
