Linksys Wireless Question

Torch

New member
I have the 4port wireless router/switch. With my laptop connected with the PC card and my workstation via cat 5 to the router.

For some reason I lose connectivity to both my workstation and laptop after 2-3min. At that point I have to reset the router or release/renew DHCP then everything works again.

Anyone know what the fix is?

do you have the newest drivers? you can grab them off of linksys' site.
there is a known issue with the wireless where it will drop out after N amount of time. it varies and I think they have since fixed some of the issues.

I have that same setup (well, more routers, more machines, but esntially the same) and have no issues with it - but I always get the latest working builds.

check out www.dslreports.com - they talk about all kinds of dsl/cable home networking issues including a whole board about the linksys wireless device

Thanks HS

I will look into that when I get home. I will also get the newest firmware release to see if that helps.
