his millions are not as large as he once had. Lawsuits and loans he took out will clean him out.

you're in the NFL now
you're a professional and it's time to grow up and live straight so to speak
 
do what the military seems to do quite a good job with

I'm impressed with how our armed forces are so racially diversified and yet are able to mold harmonious units
be it a platoon,battalion etc.

Poor dude, his whole life flushed down the toilet. I do agree with some of you though, your upbringing should not be an excuse for everything. The guy made it thru college and now worked as a professional athlete. He did not need to engage in dog fighting to make money.

he never made any money from it, that isn't why he did it.

It was part of the culture he grew up with, something that was "cool" simple as that.

He's paid quite a price for such a stupid mistake.

23 months in prison is insane. They should have fined the hell out of him and made him do community service at animal shelters and take sensitivity classes.. I'd be on the side of the picket with all the black people. 2 years in prison is fucking ridiculous.
 
i thought he seemed somewhat genuine.. i dont think vick is a bad person, just an idiot.

fact is, he got hosed. if anyone of us got busted for dogfighting, with no past criminal record, we wouldn't do anywhere near 2 years..

Calvin Hill does that for the Dallas Cowboys. Vick has wicked talent and I think he will be playing in the NFL again soon. I don't think he will have to do two years so I bet he will lace up again in Fall '09.

well its a federal sentence, so he's gonna have to do atleast a year and a half.

so thats 2 seasons, plus whatever goodell wants to hand down. pacman got a year, and he wasn't even convicted of shit!
 
You can forget 09....State charges will net him 5 full years. Madden 2012 will have him in the stands selling hotdogs
 
He wont do all that time. This turned into more of a political showboating clusterfuck than actual law enforcement. Right now everyone involved wants to be a hard nosed upholder of the law and incidentally further their own career.

Just like Andrea Yates who was initially crucified for political reasons, then later retried and found NGRI and went to a medium security psych hospital, Vick will have to get his ass spanked for now, but will probably be able to get a deal of some sort in 12-18 months.

I was hoping for something in 6 months or so. Hopefully they got him comfortable wherever he is though. Would be a shame if he could never return to his prime physical condition.
 
the funny thing is there are other inmates in prison that "feel the same way" he does but go right back out and do it again. i feel bad for his kids though. one day your the coolest kid in school the next your nothing. hard for kids to deal with the switch in emotions like that.
