Liddell vs. Sobral

Chuck Liddell Wins by Technical Knock Out at 1:35 in the 1st round. I feel bad for Sobral, he is a nice guy but nowhere near the level of Liddell or Silva. This fight was a joke and way too damn easy for Chuck. Another BJJ fighter crushed by a MMA fighter.
 
wow!!@! I really thought this one would go the distance....or at least more than one round. What did chuck catch him with?
 
An uppercut, knocked him on his ass and then Chuck pounded his face until he was out. Renalto then grabbed John McCarthy's leg and started attacking him, lol he had no idea where he was. He tried to stand with Chuck and got destroyed.

it looked like one but it was kind of an uppercut.hook.cross thing
chuch is in the habbit of throwing odd punches
the other fights where ok but there were a pair of submission wins that can be difficult to watch....the tap was a bit late if you know what I mean

Were they heel hooks or kneebars? I've seen plenty of armbars and keylocks leave limbs flapping backwards. I've yet to see a blown out knee. I hope the tapees are OK.
 
Sobral def should not have rushed in. He lost it and tried to beat chuck at his own game and unfortunaltey you better have a better plan that that. I wanted sobral but after seeing him rush in like that Chuck deserved then win. No ones f^king with Chuck!

I don't think Sobral or other guys try to fight Chuck's game. I think Chuck forces them to fight his game. He's become so awkward with his footwork and generates power from bizzare angles.

Chuck has a unique way of throwing punches and it works. Who cares if its unorthodox. The punch was indeed an uppercut if anyone was going to define it, this is what me and about 10 people saw and what the announcers said. I don't care if it wasn't a boxers uppercut. Everyone knows chuck doesn't throw true boxers punches.

Whatever, he made a mistake, he had no chance of beating liddel. The real mistake he made was thinking he could fight chuck and not

a) get kicked in the head unconscious

b) get his face pounded in

Seeing it a second time, it was clearly an uppercut, although it was from a weird angle. Sobral is a good fighter and deserved his chance he was the #1 contender.

I didnt' say it's bad for chuck to throw the way he does
but it wasn't a true uppercut
and that's the truth

his unorthodox style of punching is why he throws quick AND powerful punches. He's redifining the MMA game......now who's got a link to the knockout!!

Chuck is one of those fighters that really makes me THINK about what is USEFULL in MMA
he's the first guy that made me realize that with 4oz gloves, technique wasn't that important, I mean with a 4oz glove the punch dosn't have to be perfect
hell an ARM punch would have some serious impact with only 4oz of protection

he do fine in pride....everyone thinks that pride is so much more brutal and its really not a whole loft different. Guys that come over from pride sometimes do not do so good. I am a major pride fan though
 
chuck got wrecked in his fight in pride against rampage and the pride heavyweights would have no problems with the ufc heavyweights
