Libido issues

Dr_MD, I stand corrected and you have my apology. I, like burnthiscorpse wasn't taking a shot at you. I was just going by statistics from the Mayo Clinic, which I thought would be a pretty solid benchmark.
I also agree that it'll be interesting to have a medical opinion in many of our threads here.
Again, my apologies for getting off on the wrong foot, and welcome to our community here at EF.

Stevesmi, i love your post. I wish i could tell patients that have problems to get off their asses, stop eating McDonalds and get to the gym but I would lose my license! Although the advice would be very fitting. You have to remember, that a conventionally trained Dr is trained to prescribe and do surgery to correct problems. That's our job. Patients have to be their own advocates for health care and take some responsibility..... as it seems a lot of people on here do (kudos). Further, the sad fact is that if a patient goes to a Dr and doesn't leave with some sort of prescription they feel cheated. Sad but true!

Nelson, BTW. Love unleashed!!!

oh i know bro. i had a aquaintance who had bladder cancer and would bitch at his doctors because his cancer kept coming back. the problem is whenever i would go see him he would have a cigarette in his mouth and a beer in his hand.. and veggies were his enemy and all he ate was BBQ. he was a chain smoker and frankly should be dead long ago but because of modern medicine he has been able to stay alive somehow.. i'm pretty sure he knows what he is doing is wrong because his wife was an athlete who was a total 180 of him and i'm sure she is on his case but like you said patients have to do it on their own.. if i brung up his diet and smoking he would automatically change the subject. he doesn't want to hear it, he is probably dead by now

Thanks guys. As I mentioned, I've been viewing this site for a while now and finally decided to jump in and get involved. I hope I can add something to the community. Regarding drug side effects, it's always a difficult problem to manage; it's laughable that anti-constipation medication has a side effect of.....constipation, for example...... most of it is legal BS that has to go on the box. One other thing, i've seen a lot of Drs get bashed around here for knowing nothing about steroid use and PCT. Have to agree on that one, a lot of the advice on here is first class (although also a lot of crap advice too) as most MDs have had zero exposure to 'sports' medicine and steroid (ab)use!

There is no money in curing people, only putting them on drugs which create a constant income stream from prescriptions. Drugs simply ATTEMPT to address symptoms, they dont fix anything. With the exception of stuff like diabetes where insulin is required to avoid death, everyone should start by looking at nutritional deficiencies and toxin exposure (from inside and out) and when doing so throw the stupid FDA guidelines out the window they are by and large put in place to limit medical intervention and benefit big pharma.

Intestinal pathogens wreak havoc on the mind, underfunctioning thyroid also leads to depression and disruption of the bodies various other hormones.

yeah trust me i know.. i play poker with some docs home game and its hilarious when we get into the steroid topic.. they know nothing

there was a guy on here called footdoc who was a good dude as well and was straight up that his peer doctors he works with are morons on this stuff.. unless the doc himself is a bodybuilder who uses how would he know anything about the matter? its just common sense .. would be like taking a BMW or mercedes in to a redneck mechanic in rural Texas and having him service it. he knows about cars but he never saw a bmw in his life.

While it is true that SSRI's interfere with ejaculation far more than erection, they still kill sex for so many men. They are given out like candy by family docs and shrinks. My very best anti-depressant has always been intense exercise....That shouldn't shock anyone here. So while it's true that ED is not the main problem what good is it to have sex if you can't have an orgasm?? This guy should get some proviron and get to the gym
