Pets are the easy answer...I had several growing up who were pretty special. Them aside - My parents. I got really damn lucky with them. REALLY. There's nothing I could do that would make them love me less, and vice versa.

drinking, drugs, isolation, it's the separation from actively functioning as a normal human being and the changes in outlook which is most damaging

In response to your K message...my pets aren't my deepest experience and understanding of love...My current boyfriend is. He is the cure for all my ills, he makes me laugh through my tears, holds my hand through my darkest walks. He understands me better than I understand myself...which is an accomplishment because I am a complicated woman. I think you and I might have different definitons of unconditional.

I'll take another truth, then I need to hit the sheets.

For the people getting pissy about my privately daring people (I'm looking at you, friendlycanadian)...billfred, for example, was dared to shamelessly e-flirt with all the women here for the rest of the day (which bombed because he signed off for the day at 6, half an hour after I dared him that). If I posted it publicly, they'd know it was a dare, and that would make it too easy on him. If you want better or publicly announced dares, make them up yourself!
