It is like survivor... But people get their ass beaten before they are kicked off the show.

The UFC and Pride are the best hand to hand combat sport in the world.

Have you seen UFC fights latley where they show you some of the fighters moves?

I always get my girl in the floor so i can try it out on her.........lmao

LOL... I have shown a couple of chicks submission holds when we are naked in bed after sex. Last time I had this chick in a triangle choke and she bit my nuts.

i missed it :(

are these people competing already in the UFC or trying to earn a spot?

from what i heard it sounds like they are all new and trying to earn a spot and that there are ufc 'vets' there to help them out?

who knows.. ill catch the next episode

First episode and already two guys got sitches. One on the chin and the other guy on the forehead... The Canadian guy is about ready to quit...

Not much else to say ecept the physical training is brutal. 3hrs per day. 30minutes spent on the treadmill running.

Yeah, that cocky drunk dude is annoying, but he does seem to have drive.

The Canadian dude blows. Too bad we couldn't find a better representation for our country. Ah well.

Don't know if I have a fav yet. The yoga guy (I think) seems a bit too serious, kind of a square.

I think the guy that got the stitches in the chin (name?) will do well.

yeah..the canadian guy makes me regret being canadian. that drunk needs to have his legs broken....talk about annoying. all in all though..it was fun to watch.
wtf is the ufc president doing there? he is outta shape and doesn't fit in...he should remain on the sidelines

sasharawkz said:
I hated that cocky drunk guy...I hope someone beats his ass!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go yoga dude!!!!

That guy may be a dick, but hes got heart and is tough...I think hes going to go far in the competition. But who knows, we still didn't get to see alot fo the other guys...

All in all, i like it so far. Nice to see how hard these guys really train...

the canadian kid really isnt even in the top of what we have, the guy has had 4 mma fights and wants to go UFC, he is a dreamer no more.

That drunk kid really reminds me of Ortiz in how cocky he is,and it annoys me,but you gotta give him props,he was hung over like a mother fucker and was the only one to finish the run.

My fav btw is Nate Quarry,I think he will do well

All mental bro, all in your head dude.

thats true,I guess I just get hung over worse then others,Im practically immobile for a good part of the next day after I get tanked

I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. But I also would'nt be surprised if at least one fighter has to quit because of an injury, or gets sent home because of an injury. I hope not, though. I, too, am interested to see whether the drunk guy actually has what it takes, or if he will get a rude awakening.
Its really great to see that NHB is making it into the mainstream, by having shows like this. ESPN has had a shortened version of the UFC (1 hour) that it showed a few times. Its long overdue that the mainstream public takes notice of this sport and embraces it like us early fans have for years already. The boxing federations have for too many years done their best to eradicate NHB from the face of the earth in order to preserve what they feel is their monopoly on the public's interest (& revenues) in professional one-on-one combat sports.
I, for one, haven't lost my enthousiasm for the sport of boxing, just because I now watch NHB events. I think there's room for both. If boxing should be worried about anything, they should start worrying about how the public's interest may start waning if this B.S. of corrupt judges declaring wins to fighters no matter how the actual fight went. anyhow...

Hopefully, this will be just the first of many more seasons of The Ultimate Fighter!!

watched it. pretty cool. really, really like the 2 guys they chose to run the show, couture and liddell. 2 class acts.

Caught the reshowing yesterday. If 11:00 is too late for you, like it is me, go to Spiketv.com and they list reshowings.

Overall I liked it. Watching this show gets me pumped up and motivated to train harder and get in shape quicker.

The second episode is ON tonight! 11:09 PM on SPIKE TV after the Fake Wrestling show.

I thought it was 3 hours 2 times a day. Maybe I'm wrong. 3 hours doesn't seem all that bad. My jiu jitsu class alone is 2 hours straight. I dunno.

Yeah I'll be watching it tonight. The last guy picked is a pussy. I feel bad for him. I feel even worse for "The Natural" to have him on his team. Who knows.... Maybe he'll surprise us though.

It is two sessions per day. First the heavy weights then the lighter guys. Each guy gets 3hrs of training per day...

I think you are wrong about the intensity of their training.
I've studied BJJ at one of the Gracie schools... We spent 80% of the class laying down or sitting. We did train hard but got to rest in between rolling, and 90% of the sparring was done on the mat, intense but you are laying down the whole time.

These guys have 3 hours of intense training! punching, kicking, grappiling, learning takedowns... Throw in a 30 RUN... not a jog... A RUN! and you have a hell of a day ahead of you!

LOL LOL LOL

"I think he'd get his ass kicked by a logger in a bar" -Chris Leben... LOL Funny Shit!

True good point. I remember though even in this episode one of the trainers saying how they were training at first 6-8 hours a day. I dunno. Either way it's tough shit I'm sure.

As far as the decision went I think Randy made the right choice in keeping Chris. So the guy doesn't have the perfect attitude but nobody is perfect. He's just being himself and he's a good fighter. These guys don't know each other and then get thrown in and everyone expects them to be a team. Teams are built through experiences with each other good and bad and that takes time. I didn't like how the other guy was so quick to point out Chris's faults and then lastly make a pathetic speech not talking about why he should be kept there but how Chris should be let go because he dissobeyed the rules.

Can't wait to see these guys go at it.

anyone else notice that spike has so much fucking commercials? good show but I get bored waiting for the endless commercials to stop

Hence why I record it and watch it the next day. Well, that plus it comes on late and I need my beauty rest.

I agree totally. Chris NEEDS a smack upside the head, and I think Randy gave that to him with what he said. We'll see if he can figure it out. Asshole, but he does have heart, no question.

It will be interesting to see these guys mix it up :chomp:

And yeah, I fuckin' hate all the danm commercials on Spike, too. But, it gives me time to get refills.

I'm glad Chris Leben stayed on... The other dude looked like such a grade AAA PUSSY for trying to get Chris thrown off... He should have give reason why he should stay instead of trying to get the other guy thrown off.

Bump

Episode #3 tonight.
Also, this is the first time two guys have a real fight. Should be interesting.

Dayummm.... Dude has to cut weight! That shit is not fun.

20lbs in 1 day is a lot. Even for a big 235lbs guy it is still a shitload of water to drain out of your body... 320 oz of water!

I have done the whole Plastic suit in the sauna bullshit, it sucks ass.

Dude!

Look at his fucking abs after droping 20lbs of watter... You can actually see some cuts. LOL

Man!
He got caught with a couple of good shots, the last one put him away... I'm not sure what Louden was thinking about steping into range like that to a bigger guy with more reach... Pretty good fight overal.

Well, look who it is! Fucker! Give me a call bro. I started my new job today. Can you believe I'm a boss?? The world is coming to an end.
BTW I saw the show tonight and I watched how that one dude had to lose 20 lbs in one fucking day. That's a bunch of bullshit if you ask me. Yeah, you can turn around and say that it takes great discipline and guts to do that shit...but at the same time you guys can't disregard the danger he put himself in. The dude came out looking pale as hell and he was BLACK. I'm sure that he's fine now obviously but what's the point to make someone lose 20 lbs in one day then come the next day his body and mind will still be in shock from the previous day and then he's supposed to be ready to fight?? Seems like that was poorless planning on the trainers and the fighter himself. 20 lbs in one fucking day. That's insane.

All part of the fighting game. You gotta make weight. You can take 6-8 weeks and lose the or dehydrate 48 hrs before. Some time you have to do a little of both... Like I said it is all part of the fight game.

He had some serious help though, I don't think he had the testicular fortitude to do it on his own.

-BRR

Well, I don't think boxers put themselves through such torture. Either way you look at it; it's idiotic to do that to yourself. You put too much at risk in my opinion. He had balls to do it regardless of help. I'm glad he won though

-Yes they do. Not all of them but most do. Boxers need to make weight as much as any other sport.

-It is not as much risk as you think. Guys do it all over the world every day. As I type this right now, we are in full out HS/college wrestling season, there are thousands of kids all over America right now cutting weight for their next match. Every high school and college wrestler does it at one point or another. You may think it is "idiotic" I just think it is part of the fighting game, always has been.

-I wouldn't say he had "balls" just because he cut the weight, he was ready to quit a couple of times, Chuck and the other guy dragged him thru it.

BTW- The doctor checked him right after the weigh-ins and she even said he was fine. She checked his pulse and other signs of severe dehydration... This lady is the fight doctor for UFC and has seen it all, even she said he was alright....

What's the difference between having a 101 fever and being in a room that's 210 degrees? Maybe I heard that shit wrong last night? I hope so. That would mean that all this was one big misconception. But even if it was 120 in there, how the hell do you not fry your brain?? I couldn't even imagine what that feels like.

it sux but at times you have to do it.

im getting too old for that sh1t and now i just diet down weeks before and actually gain weight the last 2 days before competing.. it makes for 3-4 weeks of diet hell but i fight much much better..

i also normally weigh in and then fight a few hours later..

when i weight in the nite or day before.. well then thats a whole nother story :)

nothing like jogging in a sauna while spitting into a bag!!!!!!

were nuts.. all of us.. completely crazy... :)

good luck!

Hey guys.

Here is a nice write up about thisn from another site:

All right I’m just going to come out and say it … The Ultimate Fighter is the best television show ever, end of discussion.

Save your “Cosby” talk. Squash that “M.A.S.H.” or “Cheers” argument you are about to make. And the rest of you go ahead and put your hands down. I said it, I believe it and that settles it.

So maybe I’m a bit biased and maybe T.U.F. won’t have a run as long as the Simpson’s, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t.

Last night’s episode got rid of everything you don’t want to see and gave you what you wanted and more. This show really focused on what life is like for professional fighters. The guys faced more strenuous training, endured a savage marathon of weight cutting and got low-balled by Dana White on a contract negotiation—everything a real fighter has to endure!

Seriously this show stepped out of the conventional norm and brought us a stark almost “Smashing Machine”-esque look at what it takes to survive at the highest level.

Last night’s play featured three great acts.

Act I: Dana Has Teeth

Dana White has been both praised and vilified for what he’s accomplished since emerging as the president of the UFC. To most fans he comes across as a nice guy with somewhat of a meek demeanor. In fact in some of the earlier episodes I had wished that he would become more of a presence because it puts a face to the company and gives UFC some personal representation.

After hearing rumbling in the house of the guys not wanting to fight for free, Mr. White calls an impromptu meeting where he rips into them with language salty enough to make even the most grizzled truck driver blush. Dana questions their reasons for being on the show and just what it is they thought they were going to be doing. After the scolding, Dana makes sure that none of them want to wear a sundress from here on out, and they move on to the next physical challenge.

Bobby Southworth really struggled with the challenge (desert canoe race) and came in dead last, making him the first man slotted to fight to remain on the show. Based on his weaknesses Team Liddell chose Lodune Sincaid to be Southworth’s opponent, setting up the fight card for an elimination bout.

II: Weight Cutting

Now that the match up has been made we learn that Bobby is 20 pounds over the 205-limit for light heavyweights. He’s got 24 hours to make weight and that sets off an agonizing portion of the show where we see what extremes these fighters must endure in order to compete.

Wrestlers and boxers won’t be shocked, but to the uninitiated this stuff is so hardcore. I have a few friends who have been following the show. They know nothing of the sport but they all called or E-mailed me today to say that the weight-cutting was so riveting that it’s got them hooked on the show.

On “The Biggest Loser” they had a scene where one of the tub-of-guts contestants was panicking thanks to having to climb a few flights of stairs. Emergency services was called and they helped her back down. Contrast that with Chuck Liddell jamming his foot against the sauna door to keep Southworth inside and you see that on T.U.F. mercy is not for the weak.

Bobby enjoys the 210-degree heat wearing a rubber suit that is wrapped with sweat suits while he pedals an exercise bike. After being literally dragged in and out of the sauna plenty of times and spending his out-time playing basketball and doing more cardio, Southworth eventually sucks it up and tips the scales at a perfect 206.

Liddell and Southworth’s teammate Josh Koscheck put a valiant amount of work into making sure that Southworth makes weight, thus putting him in position to win the fight and stay on the show.

After all that mental and physical anguish he can finally relax and re-hydrate so that he can get inside a fence and finally be punched in the face.

III: The Fight

Here is where we really see the genius in this show. We got no flashy editing; no angled shots that make it look like more action is going on than what’s real. We got a non-stop fight with five-minute rounds and no corny music or dramatic dialogue in the background—just two mean hombres going head to head with the familiar white noise of a dozen coaches yelling out unintelligible commands for the fighter of their choice.

The fight itself was pretty good, too. Early on it was little sloppy as both men tried to feel each other out a little and get their own rhythms going. Then Southworth got a takedown and worked for side control. Lodune was able to “turtle” up and get out of danger.

On their feet both men looked for shots but not much was available as they both kept some distance between each other. They finished the first round trading knees and hooks while clinching against the chain-link.

During the rest period, Liddell admonishes Southworth to throw a combo or two, and this would be the foreshadowing moment of the show as a few minutes later Southworth connects with a 1-2-3 combo that sent Lodune on a journey of mat discovery.

The first two punches were crisp and the final one turned his head, and we got to see our first ever reality show knockout. Hell, “The Next Great Champ” could have been on for five seasons before we would have seen a KO. It was a great fight and a masterly finish to one of the best hours of reality drama I’ve seen in a long time.

The UFC kind of reestablished itself in this episode in terms of what it wants to be and how it is to be perceived. It wants to be a great fight company and is grooming their fighters to provide that entertainment.

As a nice twist Southworth received five grand for producing a knockout so the “fight for free” arguments were quickly quelled. We also got to see the UFC poster boys Chuck and Randy slip out of “coach” mode and saw how they are as competitors as well, translated through the training of their team.

All in all it was a great episode and I can’t wait to see more.

Putting the show aside for a moment let’s turn our attention to the real deal, UFC 51 this Saturday. I’ll be there and I hope you guys get to see it in person, at home with friends or while enjoying an adult beverage at an adult establishment. See you next week.

I wait all week to see the 11:00pm showing of TUF, doing my best not to hear anything about it. The show comes on, I watch it and get excited because we are going to see our first fight. What happens about 35 minutes into the show? During commercial there's a preview of the next episode, and they give away the fact that Bobby wins the fight! It goes something like "Bobby is cocky after last weeks knock-out victory..."
Thanks alot, Spike.
Great episode, though.

WHO'S READY FOR IT

this show is my new addiction

btw I got alex for the fight by KO

Yeah, that sucked. I caught the replay and saw that too. This one was pretty good. The next episode in Vegas seems like it will be good.

Diego Sanchez just owned the guy flat out! For a second there before the fight I thought that Alex might get a quick KO on Diego, assuming he'd be able to avoid the takedown...boy was I wrong.

I want to see Koscheck vs Leben really bad.. Koscheck is clearly the most conditioned fighter on the show physically and has an awesome record to show for it, while Leben looks like a good instinctive brawler. It won't be a repeat of tonight's (ep.4) bout b/c it looks like Leben can grapple a little better than Alex.

I just hope Leben doesn't get kicked off of the show before he gets to fight b/c of misconduct. As you can see in the previews for next week's episode, it is Leben who punches the door, resulting in the blood you saw on the ground. I couldn't make out the people who were about to get into a fight outside though.

I feel the same way. I think Leben might be thrown out before he we see him on the ring... It is almost like the guy wants to get thrown off..

Little History for you guys: My best friend growing up earned a Schoolarship to a Div.1 College for Wrestling... He wrestled Koscheck twice in the same season and beat him both times.

This show is too addicting and gets my adrenaline pumping right when I need to get some sleep! Next weeks episode looks insane - drunken brawl, someone gets kicked off. I love this show!

Little History for you guys: My best friend growing up earned a Schoolarship to a Div.1 College for Wrestling... He wrestled Koscheck twice in the same season and beat him both times.

Your friend must be very good b/c Koscheck looks like a machine. I'm just a little wary of how he will incorporate all the other aspects of the game into his wrestling skills. The scene that gave me this fear is when Leben was analyzing Josh's stand-up and mentioned how he didn't even try to pass his guard or anything. Despite his demenor on the show, he is a coach @ Team Quest and I'd bet he is more professional and smart than what stupid reality TV potrays him as.

here's a little FYI of my own:

Sam Hogar worked out @ the Rec @ my former college (LSU) and I've talked w/ him a few times while I worked out there. He's a real nice guy and is pretty strong. I remember refusing to spot him on bench once b/c he was doing 3-5 rep sets w/ his 1RM weight and I didn't want anything happening w/ that much weight to cause him injury while I was spotting him. That was one of the main things I remember from when I knew the guy.

I do know Hogar's style is BJJ, and that he's pretty strong. I just want to see how he compares to the other LHW's on the show, which all seem to be more striking-oriented fighters than him. We saw from this episode what happens when a good grappler goes against a striker. If the LHW division of that show had as much talent as the MW division, I wouldn't feel to confident in Sam, but the LHW division doesn't seem to be as loaded w/ talent.

Everytime I think about Chris Leben getting kicked off the show it pisses me off... It really seems like the guy wants to get kicked off. Maybe he would rather get kicked-off than beaten off. He might be affraid to have to get his ass whooped on T.V after all the trash talking he has done...

I think he might be gone next week... I'm pissed!

I thought the fight between diego and alex was snoooooorrrrriiiinnnngggg! I thought Diego just outfought that guy from the get go. A total mismatch. (i guess it was a good strategic move though!) Can't wait for the piss up next week!

It was, but those crafty bastards at Spike actually made me think Alex had a chance. They must have mentioned three or four times before the fight that Alex had punching power and was capable of knowcking Diego out. I guess that's what makes the show so interesting

So what do you guys think about Kroscheck versus Lebe. Kroscheck looked a bit shook when he learned he had to fight Leben.

The whole getting drunk and arguing/breaknig the house thing was BS so I'm glad no one got kicked out.

This seems like the best way to settle ti and it is a fight that eveeryone wants to see.

I really want to see Leben destroy som wrestling ass though

man, i was disappointed they didn't go this week! bit yeah, he (Kros) didn't look very happy. i know Leb's a dick but they rode him hard, made him fucking cry. you'd think being older and more mature that Bobby would lay off.

Leben deserved the water for the stupid shit he pulled, but what bobby said was cold, hopefully leban will get a chance to fight him also

Dammit I missed it since I was out on a V-Day date... I'm gonna try to catch a rerun

Josh is a punk. Bobby was right to call out Chris, because if you remember, Chris was all "Fuck you, try and knock me out". So he deserved being called what he was. But Josh is a fucking instigator. First he was making fun of his own teammate Diego for drinking too much, then he tries to start shit with Chris by unleashing the hose on him. It seemed like he wanted Chris to throw a punch at someone so he would get kicked off, and then he wouldn't have to fight him. Anyway, I hope Josh gets his assed whooped next week.

Gawd I hate all that drunken drama. The one owner of the UFC (didn't catch his name) had the right idea of cutting out all the booze, and having the guys "act like professional athletes". Pro fighters don't go boozing like clowns and then expect to perform at an elite level. And rewarding a bunch of guys cooped up in a house for a month a trip out on a booze fest seemed a little nearsighted.

IMO, if the bullshit he-said-this and he-cried-like-a-baby continues, it'll discredit the guys who actually train hard and want to be there to fight professionally. Let's hope the show cleans up that area.

Too bad about Nate, that was pure bad, BAD luck on his part.

But the fight between Leben and Kroscheck should be good. I'm interested to see if Chris can cash the cheque his mouth seems to spout 24/7.

sometimes this show it too much, it's like the real world, lots of whining. makes it real hard to pull for someone.

These guys were worse than a group of girls at a bar after one gets dumped!!! All that crying and hugging. The only thing missing was Leben singing "I will survive"! The fight should be a good one though.

Good show. I hate the challenges or whatever they call them. I also hate the drama in the house and some of the guys being crybabies. But you know what? It's all necessary to make this a reality show. I keep forgetting that the idea is to attract the average person to the show. Guys that sre already into NHB will be watching no matter what.
This is why Lebe, South, & Josh weren't even close to actually being kicked off. I tried to bet my friend $100 that they all would stay, but he didn't bite.
Everyone involved in the decision-making process knows this.
I used to like Josh, but now I know he's scared of Chris, and I can't wait to see them fight.

cant wait for that fight ,you gotta expect all the drama in the house it would be less if they wern't on teams or if mabey randys team won something .chris was being a bit of a drama queen if he was that ma dhe would of hit bobby after they hosed him since he was the only one around when kroscheck ran i think chris will be around after next monday sucked that nate got hurt he seems like he's not stuck on himself like alot of the others i think he wins the whole thing

yeah nate is a soldier. i think this is the second time he got hurt. Even though Chris is an ass, you gotta give it to him because he's gonna fight without skin on his knuckle. That's got to hurt(I know he did it himself, but still).Bobby is a huge ass, but i give him some cred for dropping the weight when he had to(although he should have been in shape walking in the door, day 1).Diego gets credit for fighting injured & winning. When Alex gave up the back, he capitalized. I've seen MMA fights lately where a guy gives his his back, then manages to squirm out or stand up. In the old UFC days, from all the fights i've seen, every guy who made that mistake got choked out.

I can't wait to see Chris fight Josh. I hope he wins this one. I do however want Chris to get his ass handed to him eventually. He runs his mouth too much. He has said he's the best fighter in the house and I just don't see it.

yah this is like my favorit reality show ever
free fights!
it's awsome

I feel bad tho
I've heard some people say it's basically a set up and that sucks
I could have heard wrong tho there is always a conspiracy theory about any reality show
but I like watching it

That guy may be a dick, but hes got heart and is tough...I think hes going to go far in the competition. But who knows, we still didn't get to see alot fo the other guys...

All in all, i like it so far. Nice to see how hard these guys really train...

well, the first session was to see who had the heart
it was about as accurate a representation of their training as BUD/S is daily SEAL training
it's not there to make you physicaly tough it's there to test your mental toughness

now in just this past episode Chuck Liddell's StrengthCoach came in to give them a taste of his training and that looked pretty cool
I wish they had shown more of that training tho : o (

Man!
He got caught with a couple of good shots, the last one put him away... I'm not sure what Louden was thinking about steping into range like that to a bigger guy with more reach... Pretty good fight overal.

I was suprised Bobby didn't put Lodune in a Rear Naked Choke when he gave up his back, cus his arms were onthe mat and it looked like a perfect shot
I guess Bobby is a standupfighter with not much grappling?
or maybe he just missed that one shot
it didn't cost him the fight or anything

Well, I don't think boxers put themselves through such torture. Either way you look at it; it's idiotic to do that to yourself. You put too much at risk in my opinion. He had balls to do it regardless of help. I'm glad he won though

well the other option is that he gets to fight opponents in a weightclass below him
that much cutting is bullshit tho because he's basically out of tha weightclass but still fighting those guys when he shouldn't be

I think it's going to be a slaughter
in the first show Leben put his hand up over his head and Josh went up after it!

I believe he is right
at least in his weight class

Scripted, fake--same deal.

Bottom line is it's not real. I'd like to see those overblown juice monkeys in the Octagon :chomp:

Those WWF guys are great athletes and take a beating day-in and day-out... But there is no real competetition. The only way to get to the top is to suck the owner's dick.

it is the same thing like Judo is the same thing as Boxing...
there are similarities but they are not the same thing

Heh, nice try, but no dice. You can't compare fake "wrestling" to martial arts.

Since this is a martial art forum, let's stick to martial arts. ;)

both are facts and neither have anything to do with what I was saying

I'm guessing you didn't follow me either
I did not say Judo and Boxing are the same thing
they are SIMILAR
but not the SAME
just liek Scripted and Fake are SIMILAR but not the SAME

Air has killed everyone who has breathed it and water has killed everyone who drank it. Using the logic behind your arguement, these activities are more dangerous than boxing.

Actually it's a dumb arguement. WWF is what it is, boxing is what it is, and MMA is what it is.

actually air did not kill everyone who breathed it
and water has not killed everyone who drank it
everyone who ever drank water has died or will die at some point
but drinking water did not kill them...
and I'm not saying pro wrestling is like martial arts
please pay attention to what I am actually saying

unless you were bitching at someone else, and then that is ok

I wouldn't necessarilly say that its scripted either; move for move anyways. The wrestlers do know who is going to win and lose a match even before it begins, but they go through the match unscripted. These days, alot of the stunts and strikes are real, but it still looks fake. Like acrobats or gymnastics. Just knowing that the feuds and the characters are made up makes wresting unwatchable to me.
A while back a friend of mine tried to talk about wrestling, and I said that its fake, and he goes, "Some of it is real" lol
When I was a kid I used to think (or be in denial) that wrestling was real. I watched it religiously. Then the show "60 Minutes" interviewed Sting. The guy asked Sting, "What's the truth, is wrestling fake?" "Yes" Sting answered.
I NEVER watched wrestling again the moment I heard that.

Thats what is so great about UFC, and Ultimate Fighter, and Pride, and NHB in general. No staged or scripted fights, feuds, or characters. No shady decisions like in boxing (although I do question the decision of Bas Rutten defeating Kevin Randleman back in the day).

well anytime there are judges deciding a fight there is the potential for controversy
but I basically feel that if Bodybuilding is a sport so is pro wrestling
if bodybuilding is not a sport neither is pro wrestling
I havn't really made up my mind which way I feel but I am sure that they are in the same category wherever they fall

well, I've had mixed feelings the whole week about who I think the winner of this match will be. As of right now, I'm guessing Josh will take the fight with some Ground and Pray. Judging from the clips from the preview and some other stuff, I think Josh gets at least 2 takedowns. Leben is a part of team quest, and is a personal trainer there, so he trains w/ very skilled grapplers to begin with. I'm sure he knows what to do in those situations.

I think this fight will go the entire 3 rounds and the winner will be decided via decision.

28 more hours to go untill the episode...its driving me nuts ;) .

I'm passing up sex for this show tonight, so it better be good.

Oh wait, I have a vcr. Nevermind.

This was only the 2nd episode I have watched and the first with a fight. I just hope the rest of the matches are a lot better. That fight was a disgrace. Poor stand up (you could argue that there was no stand up). I can not figure out what style of grappling they were trying to do. At least Chris made several attempts at a submission. I think Randy summed it up when he said that in the judges opion the guy in the gaurd always looks like he is winning.
