I think it's a very bad idea. Having that window open essentially makes chat a sub section of the C & C forum. I mean, why even have a separate chatroom if there is no privacy? I just see it as a really bad idea.

the great thing about the chat room though is that people CAN actually converse FREELY without worrying about pissing somebody off or offending someone. With this window, it completely negates that, and IMO, will in the long run drive people away from chat.
miplank seems to spend a lot of time in there alone.
The "stop refreshing" button is useless the way it's set up. If you click it, then go make a post in C&C, it resets and you have to click it again. Once you set it to 'stop', it should keep that setting as long as you're logged in for that session.

Further, I don't personally want some of the common chat content about genitals and sex scrolling across my screen when I leave my computer on the EF C&C page.
oohhhh...so like when me and Smurfy talk everynight about our private girl stuff everyone can see now? That's a deal breaker.

Not really a fan. I think a shoutbox would be better placed there.
Frankly, George, it's just one more thing to potentially slow down my computer.
On another note, so why'd you kill the Politics and Religion subforum? They're not half as interesting separated as they were together and you had many of your troublemakers contentedly staying in one place.

EF should work on being its own unique board, not copy annoying crap from other less prestigious boards.
