Two guys from our gym just entered and won some Mickey Mouse BB competition and are unbelievably proud of themselves. They reckon they both spend the equivalent of about $2000 on gear and food for the show when all is considered and what did they get for winning.....a slap on the back and a plastic trophy. Everyone is shaking their hand here in the gym. Are these guys a cut above the rest for their personal success, or are they money and time wasters who drive shit box cars, wear the same clothes every week, yet still find money to load themself up to the nines on Primo?

Define Mickey Mouse contest? Its not easy winning these contests, especially if there are some real contenders...being in tip-top shape is difficult ..and for a show moreso...Im not sure why your knocking their success?

Because I'm jealous!!!!!

Also, Mickey Mouse is a contest in a local city that attracts only locals with no prize money except some cheapo trophy you'd get in the Pound Shop.
 
For most of the guys is the challenge, more than the trophy or prices, not anyone can achive a Physique cause it takes work and sacrifice, those guys you mention probably are proud of their achivement, you need to have balls to go and step in the stage.....
 
I would imagine there placement would be relative to who else showed up ....

Pretty easy to win if the field sucks ....

On the other hand you have to give credit to anyone gutsy enough to stand on stage in a thong and pose for a crowd ....

The hardest thing I have ever done in my life was get ready for a Bodybuilding Show, a Natural BBing show. I didn't use any drugs or diuretics and this was back in 90 and 91. It's a grind 24 hrs aday 7 days a week. Let them feel good about themselves, if they trained hard and dieted they paid their dues.
 
off the topic there is a pro wrestler (TNA or i dont fuckin know) fake wrestling...and ive never heard or seen anything about him wrestling...well the moral of the story is he has an ego the size of the empire state building...hes always yelling "the champ is here" in his spanish accent

i have NO interest in bodybuilding (my limited genetics allow me never to have to consider it) but i have mad respect for anyone who competes, it takes guts to be judged

Sounds like the majority of pro BB's out there. So what if 1st place is $100K??? After taxes that's about $60K cash, and after $75K in drugs to prepare for the show, they're still $15K in the hole. Too bad roids aren't tax deductable eh?
 
I give anyone respect who has the dedication and can sacrifice the time to enter a contest. I've seen what it takes for several of my close friends to prepare for a show and there is no way I could do it. They were close to insane by the time they had to go on stage.

I hear that. The last few days especially-you just wanna get it over with. Putting your ego on the line standing on stage in your underwear in front of hundred of peeps takes some balls no matter how you look at it.

No ... i never " but " i've been to 30 years worth of local bodybuilding shows and more then once i laughed my way back to the front counter and politly asked for a refund on my entrance fee ...

Bodybuilding to me is about muscle and size not some 6 foot 160 pounder standing up there showing off his ab's because thats all he's got going for him due to starvation .

Anyone can diet down to 4% .. get a tan and stand on stage , means nothing to me .

Yeah but you are not factoring in the money that they are paid for blowjobs by judges and industry big wigs. Also the the gay movie companies that pay to shoot a video of you. I was googling around the net the other day and was looking for training videos. I was particularly looking for some training videos of Johnnie Jackson and came across this fucking FAGGOT ASS GAY SITE Fucking Pitiful

I think what most people dont understand is that these "Mickey Mouse Shows" are just a means to an end.
I competed in the san diego classic and am competing in the Orange County(I did last year too..took second in the superheavies both years, lost to the overall guy). But we have to place 1st in order to qualify for the nationals


I dont care who you are. it is NOT easy to bring 250+ lbs of lean ripped muscle @ 4-6% BF. it takes alot of sacrifice and desire. I respect whoever Im competing agaisnt no matter what thier shape. I will NEVER knock another competitive bodybuilder.

i like winning trophies/ i have a buick grand national that propells me down the track in 9secs at a 165mph in a 1/4 losts of money dumped in to pre-pair for a race ,but is the end result that makes you fill good.
