Lasik surgery?

Im wondering if anyone here had it, how much they paid, and if it was worth it. I need it to take a eye exam and pass(my eyes are borderline and i dont want to risk it) thanks.

I have known many who have had it and are very happy with the results. I am sorry I cannot help you with the price but perhaps you can call doctor local to you and ask them yes?

I don't know if you figured out Lasik yet but I had it done about 10 years ago for $2000 an eye. Think it's down to about 700 an eye. If you see badly it's well worth it but if your border line I wouldn't have it done. There a few bad things that can happen, halos around lights at night being one of them. I have always had halos with or without my glasses so it was no big deal for me. The halos got better but I do have them around lights at night. It's really a 15 minute an eye procedure and in my case I could see better as soon as I walked out of the place. It was freaky because it happened so fast. Doesn't hurt and you have to be careful not to get hit in the eye for a month or so but that's it. Only problem I had was being light sensitive for a few weeks. No biggie.

Its the best money I have ever spent, after 25 years of glasses it was a fantastic experience.

I was done at 11am and I was driving my car at 4.30pm the same day, if you need it get it done, it works out cheaper in the long run than buying glasses all the time.

The problem is that if your eyes start to deteriorate again.....you cannot get LASIK surgery done again. it's a ONE-shot deal. (Re-shaping the cornea cannot be done twice without risking permanent damage to the eye)

is this true..ive known 3 people who had it done, and each one said if there vision got worse they could have it redone free of charge as part of some lifetime warranty?

i had it done...i know u have to go in and get them checked and every now and then they will fix them...so im not sure if this is 100% true, however, they do say ur eyes will get worse when u get older due to age, and lasik cant correct that

I had "custom wavefront lasik" a couple of years ago. It cost 1300/eye.

I am extremely pleased with the result. I went from horrendous vision, being severely far-sighted and having an extreme astigmatism. Now I have 20/15 vision (20/10 left 20/20 right) and have experienced NO problems from the lasik. I would do it again in a heart beat, and consider it some of the best money ever spent.

I have worn glasses since I was three years old, and now I can actually read and use a computer without glasses. Yes, as you get older, you are likely to form near0sightedness, this is a standard part of aging.

You usually can have lasik done again. I have thin cornea's, and was told I could only have it 1 or 2 more times, if needed. It has not been needed.

the custom waveform lasik supposedly does a better job of correcting your vision, but they could just say that to charge more. Do research, and get recommendations from happy lasik customers. I found a doctor who had done 20k surgeries.

Had terrible vision. Was 20/15 after lasik. Thought it was the greatest.
Now, 5 years later I cant see again and not sure if I can get tuned up or even wear contacts. Which means eventually may have to wear glasses and not be able to wear contacts. Not being able to wear contacts down the road for a few years of good eyesight probably wont be worth it to me. I have a suspicion lasik makes your farsightedness go worse faster than it normally would have also.
