WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BASS SNUCK AWAY from ‘NSync’s concert in late March to undergo tests at Russia’s Institute of Biomedical Problems. He is working additional tests, conducted in the United States with Russian guidance, around concert dates during the next several days, Bass told MTV.
“I’m still testing to see if I can make the mission,” Bass said, according to MTV.com. “And I have another week and a half of that. ... If I pass these tests, then I’ll go to Russia to pass the next six tests, which are a lot easier.”
If Bass gets the green light on his health and his general suitability for an orbital mission — and if his backers can come up with the estimated $20 million cost for the trip — the 22-year-old boy-band singer could fulfill what he has said is a “lifelong dream” of going into space. The plan would call for him to fly as part of a three-person crew taking a Russian Soyuz capsule to the international space station, spend about a week on the station, then fly back.
“You had a different doctor for every part of your body, and to make sure it all works from your eyes, nose, ears, whatever, every internal organ so I know I’m very healthy,” Bass said Monday, according to MTV.com. “They passed me all from those tests so now I’m doing a set of tests here in America. Once I pass that, and I hope I do, then I’m off to Russia ... and hopefully I’ll be cleared by the Russians to ... live there for six months and train to be a cosmonaut, which I’m very excited about.”
The whole process of his training and flight would become the subject of a television production backed by commercial sponsors. In fact, a video crew filmed scenes from Bass’ trip to Russia for just that purpose.
