Has anyone else taken this herb? I've been taking capsules like crazy for the past week. I feel really good when I take it. It doesn't get me high but it elevates my mood and makes me more sociable and friendly. It also seems to make me wake up with a boner in the morning.

I get my kratom from www.sylantech.com. They have one variety they call "maeng da" and it seems to be a little more potent. I think kratom does more for me than the antidepressants my doctor prescribes.

I was on opiates for about 8 years. I remember when I was trying to quit, reading about this stuff and how it gave kind of the same feelings and help people to get off.

Yeah, tried a few kinds from different places. Made tea from them like was directed. ZERO effect. I ended up just quitting cold turkey, anyways.

Thanks. I did a lot of shit but roxy and xanax were either/or daily. I know a lot of people that do these and never quit. I don't want to really get into the exact thing that made me quit everything cold turkey, but I did. I used to always think you couldn't be happy without drugs. I was 100% sure, too. But now, I stay away from people that do it, even if they were my friends, and turn it down if ever offered anything. But I admit, I still dance with mary jane. On the other hand, I don't even drink alcohol anymore.

I'm a former pain pill addict myself. Kratom won't give you an opiate like high but I think it works better than any of the RX antidepressants I've been prescribed.

To give it some credit, I did read a lot of people said you need to do it a few times to notice effects or something. Or I could have ordered bunk. I never tried an extract, either. I tried making tea on 6-7 different occasions though.

I take a big dose so it gets expensive. I haven't been gambling as much lately because I turned my money over to someone else. My paychecks go into someone else's bank account so they can make sure I don't gamble. Damn I'm fucked up

addictions arent always that simple, not everyone has the ability to quit cold turkey, lot of factors go into play, from poor impulse control to neuro chemistry, you name it....
