Not your most well thought out response ever. And I am only discussing the merits of Kerry and Edwards for now.

Edwards is basically a guy who will point to the house on the hill and say "let;s take his money to pay for 'social program A, B, C' and so on.
Nothing inflames the populace faster than saying "let's make rich people pay their share".

Nothing decimates the economic vitality of the nation faster than those types of policies. This is Edwards all the way: his primary candidacy was all populism, almost as bad as Dean.

Kerry is a guy who - I don't think has ever had a private sector job - is the son of a career diplomat, and married into crazy money TWICE. (lucky?) You can bet that his houses on the hill are well protected by offshore trusts.

Bush has a lot of problems. But populism is not one of them.

Frankly, I would expect the republicans to do this. They don't really promise to tax the rich and give the poor a tax break.

Both parties will tax the poor more and give breaks to the rich. But the dems have conned the average worker into thinking otherwise.

I'm not saying what they ultimately do is right or wrong, but shit, at least American knows what they're getting with the incumbents.

I never objected to what Kerry did - lucky him, right? Good deal. But it does make it ironic when he is garnering endorsements from labor unions even though he never worked in the private sector (Correct me if I am wrong there).

Edwards didn't 'earn' his money. He took it, through a court proceeding. When you 'earn' money, it is given to you voluntarily in exchange for a good or service you provide. Typically, wealth is created when money is earned.
This does not describe the way Edwards made his money.

No wealth was "created" when Edwards got his money. He used legislation to take money from 'entity A' and transfer it to himself. Did Rodney King earn his money too?

If a local government confiscated property and sold it at auction, using the proceeds for the county treasury, would you say it 'earned' that money?

In other countries it is called asset seizure. Here, because of our legal lobby, we call it 'trial lawyering'. It's certainly not "earned money".

It's a mindset of poor people aligned against "big business", and using the courts to take business's assets. You call that earned? it was earned when the companies Edwards sued earned it.
