Just spent $48 on an oil change

My vette has Mobil 1 only on the oil fill cap, not sure if they would know if you ran another type synthetic or not, i'll be safe and just let the dealership change it! Plus with my vette i don't trust mom and pop oil change places to mess with it, at least if something goes wrong i can say only the dealership has ever touched it!

I buy my own filters,usually a lexus filter(about 10$) or TRD filters

Yeah ... that's an old myth. Like I said on higher end cars they come from the factory with synthetic oil. In the old days engine blocks weren't manufactured to the close tolerances we can do today with computer aided design and manufacturing. The "break in" period now is almost immediate.
Using the defense that high end cars come with synthetics I should I also mention that a Corvette goes through a much more rigorous inspection process than does a 4 cylinder Ranger. The hours they test the Vette at the factory ensures break in. That's why I waited approximately 1000 miles before I switched to synthetic just to be on the safe side.
BTW, with the heat a turbo generates I wouldn't consider running one without synthetic oil.
