Just made a doctor's appointment

and the person on the end of the line asked why I was making the appointment, was I sick or...

I told her my script needed to be renewed and had a choice of an appointment for wed or fri.

is it just me or is it a complete waste to make an appointment, wait for it, go through the motions of a check up, God awful small talk to say "oh well, uh, um these script need to be renewed, otherwise I'm fine thanks".

Now had I been really sick or in need of an appointment immediately I would have gotten the ohhhh the doctor is really busy, we can't fit you in until week after next... blah blah blah..

While I'm bitching.

My health care provider just sent me a letter to state that they have upgraded their computer systems to BETTER SERVE ME (so that's what that extra $100 bucks a months went for).

Then they sent me a letter stating that they will longer cover my migraine meds nor the brand name version of my OC.

Well thank you very much, for NOTHING.

I see your point but also realize that some Meds have side effects that you may
not recognise. This SHOULD be the time your Dr asks you about them, and also
checks bloodwork etc for any problems caused by the script.. Or checks that the Medication is still effective.. Many people would not call and complain about a problem if they could simple refill the medicine over the phone for years and years
vs having to go in and talk to them.. ..

Especially a long term prescription..

At least this is the lecture I got when I bitched..

Good answer. Even though I would be the one making a call if my migraine meds stopped working and I;m usually the one asking to have bloodwork done. I could live with that, I might still be whinny though - but I'd keep it to myself more.

Any good comments for my insurance provider?

Yeah, I think it's a scam to have to pay a $15 copay for 2 minutes & here's your scripts -- I have to go 2x a year for this.....

But my dr's office told me that the ins. co requires that they see you & if the dr. doesn't see you then they could get in trouble....

I get my meds, generic from Mexico, I gave up on doctors a while ago...
I only use them for blood tests now.

Ouch!! that sucks. :(

My company just changed insurance this year, and they were telling us how much better it will be. Yep, the medicine that use to cost less than $5:00 with my prescription card now cost $18:50 with my new card. That sure is better. I'm just glad that I don't have any expensive medicine that I have to buy on a regular basis. :worried:

I think telling the insurance people "Listen, I pay your salary Bitch/Ass so shut up and listen" is always popular..

You need to change doctors velvett. Or tell your doctor that you are going to change unless they relax that policy. My current doc will call just about anything in for excect painpills. Tell him you don't mind coming in when it is necessary but a script refill is a waste of time and MONEY for you and just a waste of time for him.

My Dr will give me an rx for daily NSAIDS Naprasyn for 3 months with 2 refills
before he wants me to come in for a check and a new prescription..

So I can go 9 months... He wants to make sure it's not frying my liver or stomach..
