The Harrisburg Judo Kai Club is the #1 YMCA affiliated club in the nation with over 2000 medalists. Instructed by Charles Cavrich, 7th Degree Black Belt, 12 time national champion/medalist.

This is the place I'm going to try, ever heard of it??

I had a lot of balance problems as a kid, and a few weeks of Judo turned that around.

You'll probably find less macho BS attached to it than certain other styles, too. ;)

definately go give it a shot..

i have heard good things about them and i have competed a few times at competitions with there people and also ones they helped put on and they were always great.

i can find out more about the sensei if you want because im sure my instructor knows him

go and look at a class and see what you think.. not sure what your looking for but i am pretty sure they teach sport judo almost exclusively.. as do most judo clubs

i like the point made about the egos.. that is one of my favorite thing about judo and most judo clubs!!!!!

as with all things, there are still some egos. my cousin was taking judo for awhile, but recently had his elbow dislocated by the INSTRUCTOR, during a demonstration to the class. it wasn't even like they were sparring or anything.

needless to say, as with any club, try to get a little background info on the instructor(s) and talk to him/her before joining.

wow that really sucks sorry to hear about that..

ill ask on mon and post what i hear

heh, i lost my two upper front teeth training with my judo instructor, numberous broken fingers and toes, altho they werent from him

its a great thing to do, when i was living in germany i also did two years of kung fu, which did more for my balance than anything else.
