last year that my secretary's son had. This past Monday, he graduated from Florida Technical College with a diploma in Oracle Database Administration.

Oh yeah, he is just 16 years old. He took a bulk of classes over the summer, then took one class per semester at night and one general academic class (English, Algebra, etc..) online each semester.

He received 60 credit hours in this course. (and just in the 11th grade). He is taking the diploma course in Microsoft Database Administration this year. He only has to take the core classes and not the general academics again.

By the time this kid graduates from high school (2006), he is going to be 10-15 credits shy of his Bachelors Degree when he transfers all the technical credits to FSU.

Just wanted to give you guys an update.

I am proud of this kid. He actually has the work ethic to want to be something in life.

I am trying to get him a summer job next year in our IT department as a Jr DBA or something.

Great. This kid is going to be the one who creates SkyNet. Thanks a lot guys.
LOL!!!

Congrats to him AAP! That is awesome.

What company out there - IT wise - is a good one to join and get to travel to other places? He wants to travel as well. I was thinking consultant work for him.

(he needs to learn to hate air travel just like I did)

Yeah, consulting will do. There are lots of big shops and small shops that rely on guys being on the road. It gets old.
