Jeez, somebody took his job too seriously...

KHMER ROGUE

Banned
I'm sure most of you here have heard about the Nebraska bank robbery which claimed 5 lives. The police officer who stopped the alleged killer a week before the robbery killed himself. Seems like he couldn't live with it and decided to off himself. The sad part is, he left a wife and six children. I can understand how he felt when he found out about the robbery but that's a stupid way to take yourself out of this world.

The article link is below:

I bet he never botched a speeding ticket. Leave it to traffic cops to fuck things up when there's an important job to do.

leaving a wife and 6 children is a terrible hting... i believe in suicide as an option but not when you have family... especially children.

So you've never made a mistake at work? The guy fucked up 2 numbers....that doesn't mean he's responsible for the killings. That guy would have gotten out and robbed the bank no matter what.
The mistake the trooper made was killing himself and abandoning his family.

Yes, I have, but I've fixed all of them. He didn't.

No, it doesn't. It means he's responsible for fucking something up on the job. He's responsible for a criminal driving off with no problem as opposed to going to jail. Would he have been released on time for the robbery? Would he have killed someone? Who knows? The fact is that as the situation stands now, several people are dead and a woman with six children is left as a widow. Had the cop done his job properly, the outcome may have - just may have - been different.

I suppose we can't really hold the cop responsible. After all, arresting a guy for possessing a stolen weapon is much harder than mindlessly writing a speeding ticket. Along with the guilt of people dying because of his irresponsibility, I sure hope he also felt the guilt of inconveniencing hundreds of peoples over the years who were guilty of no crimes only to feed the city's greed, while letting real criminals go free due to his own incompetence.

Based on what?

Agreed. In addition to being a bad cop, he's also a bad father and a bad husband. It's a shame we have people like that in this world.
