depending on when the contest is they mostly are doing it to lose water weight, not look so bloated and make to make the skin stick to the muscle.

Pure protein, that is crazy, must be friggin starved for carbs. I think I'm going to do cardio at least 3 days a week just to stay in good cardio vascular shape, and it cant hurt fatloss. maybe you are right though in that diet is the ultimate tweaker. Why is it then that when people are cutting for contests that they do tons of cardio (while dieting)? Ideally I do want to eventually get up to 6 days a week though. I just think that cardio has to be dang good for you (health wise)

I was/am starved for carbs. It sucks...
Diet is key. Ofcourse cardio burns fat, but can also burn muscle.
This is the first non-steroid cut I've done since getting into lifting again, so I'm kinda scarred of lossing my hard work. I'm gonna lose muscle, have before, question is how much I can keep. Energy is in the crapper. Reps are low but strength is holding. Means my fresh maxs are fixed, but instead of being able to do a set of 11 reps of one weight, now I can do about 5-9 of that weight, depending on how long I've been working out.
My chest day was a joke. Only got about 5 sets of tris in before being wiped out.
 
You've got a solid frame it appears from the back picture, you just have let your diet and cardio slide and have put on some padding. Nothing hard to fix. Just do as most people in this thread have said and lose the chub. Nothing big.
 
yeah you're far from fat in case you didn't happen to read any single other post in this thread besides mine.

diet and cardio will get you where you'd like to be
 
i can still see your outline of a six pack......... drop like 15 - 20 lbs and you will be pretty cut.

you have good genes, your muscles stick out still under that fat...... you could be a monster with the right training :)

Getting ready to hit the morning cardio as soon as my cardio breeze kicks in flexy. I'm low carbing it as well with sprinting sessions three times a week first thing in the morning. I've got a nice gut going on from being lazy with my diet this winter so I'm gonna have to put in some work to get back <10% but nothing a little hard work can't fix. Good luck brother.
