If a Doc is in here maybe you can help me
i want to know if its a bad idea to take Accutane 40mg 1on/1off per day
because i do severed acne on my shoulder,
im working hard at the gym, i take vitamins (A) and everything...
in the information for consumer its wrote talk to your doctor about it...so maybe its not a good idea....what are you think about it ?

im on cycle
500mg test enanthate per week
500mg durabolin per week
2 ui of hgh per day

anyone ???

You should be ok because you're not on a 17aa steroid. I hate accutane, but if it's your first time, it should work well. Do 40 mg eod for a month, then bump it up to 40 mg ed for 3-4 more months.

Get your cholesterol/trygliceride/liver values checked every month, and you should be fine. You should take it every day though. I wouldn't recommend this unless I knew what I'm doing, and I have had experience with the drug. Its side-effects are terribly overplayed, but do watch out for them just in case you're sensitive.

Oh, and don't take vitamin A supplements in addition to your multivitamin.

I have heard so much about the terrible sides of accutane. Have any of you had any serious side effects or know anyone that has?

Azul, why do you say not to take additional Vitamin A in addition to your multi???

Last year, as an alternative to accutane I took 100,000 IU's daily of vitamin A for 30 days. It cleared me right up within one week and I stayed clear for a couple months. Gradually it came back and I am getting ready to try the same thing again. That much Vit A can be bad for you over a long period but for 30 days I'll take my chances with good ole vit A over Accutane.

No serious side-effects other than dry skin.

"Accutane is a naturally occurring derivative of vitamin A and is detectable in the bloodstream of all people. Vitamin A in large doses has the same effects as Accutane, both good and bad, but quickly becomes harmful since it builds up in the tissue. (Important: Don't take any vitamin A while on Accutane). Accutane is formed naturally in the body from the Vitamin A present in the bloodstream. This is why large amounts of Vitamin A taken during pregnancy cause the same birth defects that Accutane does. Fortunately, because it is a naturally occurring product, the body is able to quickly remove Accutane from the bloodstream. It is gone from the blood within nine days and has no lasting effect on future pregnancies." (http://www.aocd.org/skin/dermatologic_diseases/accutane.html)

Yes there can be serious sides to accutane. I've experienced some of them: blurred vision, hair thinning, dry flaky skin, weak and tired. Accutane is some nasty stuff if you ask me. Doctors only use it as a last resort, and they make you sign a waiver so you can't sue them later on. There have also been reports of severe depression and suicide on the shit. If other things work for you, by all means, use them instead. Accutane is also liver toxic, and I strongly discourage its use in conjuction with 17aa steroids (although some have done it and came out alright).

i've been on 40mg/day for about a month now. big improvement in my shoulders/upper back. still have a ways to go on the rest of my back, still red spots, but huge improvemtn.
if you take it, take it with a fatty meal , (i just take a couple omega 3 fish oil pills with mine), and DO NOT TAKE ANY OTHER VITAMIN A supplements.

stock up on the chapstick !!!

dry lips and skin were my biggest issue

I even ran it with dbol and was fine at 80mg/day

ok thx , i take the universal packs as my vitamins and antioxydant, i hope its Ok
its not my first time on accutane at 18y.old i take it for 6month BIg success only dry skin and lips....so now the juice destroy my shoulder and my back + my sebaceous gland product a lot to much sebum they should be shutdown... i think...

Well if you're going to take it, stop the other vitamin A supps while you're on it, even if it's in a multi-vitamin. After the first cycle of accutane, it becomes less effective, and the sides increase. My first time was fine other than dry lips and skin. Second time was worse and didn't work as well. Third time wasn't even worth it because it wasn't working right and the sides were terrible. I confirmed this with my doc who said it's worse and less effective each subsequent time you use it.
