Is this true?

I am always wondering how many days to work out every week. I read this at www.musclegaintips.com , I was wondering if its the truth.

Weight training is needed only to stimulate growth. After that, your body needs rest and food to build the
muscle. Hardgainers, of course, need more rest and food than others.

That took me a long time to understand. Working out too often does not allow your muscles the
necessary time to recuperate. Not only will you not grow, but you will also be setting yourself up for
chronic injuries from over training, and possible muscle loss.

Improper diet and over training are two reasons why most people never get beyond an average physique. I
see guys at the gym that workout 5-6 days per week for 2 hours or more each day - but they always look
the same. They have the right motivation, but the wrong information. In other words, they're wasting their
time, effort and money doing the wrong things.

I skimmed it quickly and all I have to say is that if this guy actually kept the same routine and didn't see results, he was an idiot... Or is that insane? Do the same thing over and over and expect different results. Hmmm?

Anyhow, most of the bros on this site (myself included) train a single muscle group once a week. This allows a full week before you work that muscle again and therefore allows plenty of time for recovery.

IMO, train 5 days on 2 days off and eat right... Good luck.

working out is like religion: everyones says there way is the right way.

Just find out what works for you the best and you will be the happiest. I am sure you are will learn loads from other people but after a while you will learn what works for you and what doesn't.

i used to hit each muscel group every three days. but then i had to take a couple of weeks off while on vacation and thought i'd come back weak as hell. i ended up stronger than ever. now i understand what over training is all about. i hit everything once a week and that's it. my size and strength gains are like nothing ever before. find what works for you. the guy i used to train with hits everything every three days and grows like a weed. so everyone is different.

I like this line from his web page
To Gain Mass, You Must Eat, Eat and then Eat Some More!
. While often times true, weight training is not a one size fits all approach if you ask me. Different things work differently for different people.

Over the last 4 weeks I have droped 12lbs fat and gained 8lbs lean muscle and I am consuming roughly only 2200 calories a day, thats a 600 calorie definciency for my size/weight for maintenance. I am just using some over the counter supps at the moment and consuming a lot of protien.

As for frequency and volume, once again everyone is different. We all need to experiement and find what works for us.
