Is this "good" wrestling?

GOD BLESS AND KARMA FOR YOU EVISCERATOR. I hate the prase "wrestling is fake." I have had 4 concussions, plus I have to constantly deal with nagging knee, shoulder, and back problems, all due to wrestling. You people wanna know what a wrestling ring is? its strips of either plywood or 2x6's placed on top of 14 steel beams. Usually there is no more than 1/2 - 3/4" of padding on top of the wood. 9 times out of 10 the rope is actually steel cable. I am not complaining in the slightest, just stating how stupid it is for people to use the word "fake". Some baseball and basketball players dont get hurt as much. There is no off season, and even as an independant wrestler, you can be on the road 125-200 days of the year.

Congrats to Zach Gowen. I cant say that enough. I met him up in Michigan a couple of times as we were on shows together. He works hard, and is a better wrestler than a lot of guys with 2 legs. But in all honesty, what would happen to a Matt Hardy or a Jamie Knoble if they were to lose to him. Talk about your career being over.

Oh, and anarchist, I disagree with CZW being good wrestling. Most of it (YES, I said most) is just your run of the mill Hack n' Whack hardcore wrestling. Theres nothing meaningful about goreing yourself on barbed wire and light tubes, nor is there anything athletic about it. Later ECW, Ring of Honor, ECWA, stuff like this is good wrestling.

I was totally let down that he didn't really die. Same with Javier in "Les Miserables".

Too good to drown for real, eh? Well, fuck him, then!

You would be a good CZW fan... they really light people on fire and people really get hit in the head and laid open with two by fours... very realistic and soon someone will die in the ring.

:D

i like hardcore wrestling.

shit, i just like watching ppl get hurt. skateboarding, wrestling, figting, i dont care.

ECW was the best wrestling fed ever. ever. followed by FMW.

I have total respect for you guys.... it is brutal and many people have no idea how difficult it is to tell a story in that ring.

I get so sick and tired when people bash wrestling... I used to hide the fact that I watched it... Now I don't give a fuck.

Wrestling is the male version of the mid day soap opera for women. Its trash.

'Professional' wrestling glorifies the most primitive, reprehensible human emotions of anger, greed, jealousy, hate and revenge.

Im not perfect. But theres a time and a place. The WWF, WWE and the majority of the theatrical professional wrestling leagues make their money by serving up manifested depravity 24/7.

If people really watched it primarily for the self proclaimed heroic athleticism of its participants, why dont they tune in instead to real wrestling where the contestants arn't actors, the matches arn't staged and the motivation to compete results from a genuine passion of the sport?

Because they like the filth. Human nature.

You are entitled to your opinion... but I think you are taking it all too seriously... Every drama on television has "anger, greed, jealousy, hate and revenge.." so I assume you don't watch any type of drama whatsoever.

I do agree that the WWE focuses too much on the depravity angles. Especially when they are marketing this product towards a younger audience. I watch for wrestlers like Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, RVD, Billy Kidman, Ultimo Dragon, Chris Benoit etc... guys who can perform in the ring and always bring something fantastic to the ring.

Unfortunately, Wrestling... like society has become increasingly depraved... I don't think McMahon realizes how many people he turns off to his product with the crude angles he produces.

To each their own... All you have to do is change the channel.;)
