Books bore the majority of people now... Why? They move to slow. Books are to the mind what soccer is to sports -- something the people have evolved beyond...
The internet is different, it offers us chances to expand our horizons and reach beyond the superficial layers of information the mass media (TV, radio, etc.) provide us. If we see something that doesn't jive, we have all the power to examine its inconsistencies at our fingertips.
The internet moves fast enough to keep our attention. It is an all encompassing encyclopedia. It circumvents government control. It frees.
It thwarts the ongoing degradation of our cognitive abilities...
