Is the internet our salvation?

I think so...

for YEARS the older generations have been lambasting television for rotting out minds, shortening our attention spans and narrowing our focus.

Books bore the majority of people now... Why? They move to slow. Books are to the mind what soccer is to sports -- something the people have evolved beyond...

The internet is different, it offers us chances to expand our horizons and reach beyond the superficial layers of information the mass media (TV, radio, etc.) provide us. If we see something that doesn't jive, we have all the power to examine its inconsistencies at our fingertips.

The internet moves fast enough to keep our attention. It is an all encompassing encyclopedia. It circumvents government control. It frees.

It thwarts the ongoing degradation of our cognitive abilities...

Nothing beats the net, learning meeting people, I really do like it better than most real life social situations...if i get bored with you fuckers, I can go look at naked girls....only a strip club comes close to that convienence

the only problems are you stop relating with real people, you forget that the internet isnt pure fact--that some of the stuff written is pure BS. we spend hours at the computer, really getting no where while life is passing us by. for me its like a time warp--feels like 15 minutes and its been 2 hours. im glad its available, but i think its addicting--myself included. people are different on the net---more courageous, more outgoing when in reality they are still shy and insecure. the media is ruining america, in my opinion, and this is just another avenue to our psyche's. even in the face of what ive said, im still here, tapping away, losing touch with whats important......

okay, its late and im blabbering. BUT, there is truth in what i say....
