Or will their soliders march again?
I'm reading a book right now (german author) about germany's early 20th century plans for european domination. I really think they had the right idea, overthrowing the bourgoesy (sp) British Illses and the dick licking french. but as history has indicated, it wasn't meant to be, at least then...is their a chance they will rise again? or have their aspirations been permantely crushed?

it was wierd to watch german AFV's go into action in the balkan's in the 90s during some skirmish
first time germany's armed forces have been engaged since WWII
the vehicles were modern, but the german cross was the same
freaky

yeah the cross is a pretty gnarly symbol
prussian 19th century militarism is cool

Had Hitler capitalized on nationalist sentiments and anti-Stalin feelings the world may have been very different today....

Do you think America would've been able to coexist with Nazi Germany (That's a loaded question if there ever was one!)? Would they have eventually clashed somewhere down the line? There are so many variables. Henry Ford and Hitler were good buddies though; I'm sure that was one of few common threads between the two powers.

part of the reason why nazi germany didn't last is the couldn't control the peeps, esp in the east. just too many people to control and not enough germans. so i don't think america would have much to worry about. germany would have it's hands full trying to contain the different nationalites

lots of germans in america btw, quite an influence

Had Hitler "subdued" the Soviet Union as he had planned it would have been hard to not coexist with a European dominant Germany. Just like we co-existed with the Soviet Empire post WWII. FYI,The Nazi's actually based their eugenics laws on those already existing in the US.

Hitler's biggest mistake was "declaring" war on the U.S. If he would've STFU, we would not have jumped in when we did.

As far as a military power, Germany has a very long way to go. (However, Hitler took it from where 1/3 of its population was dying of starvation in the streets, to a world super power in 4 YEARS, so I guess anything is possible with the RIGHT gov't. structure.

Was Mauthhausen one of the death camps? I know Auschwitz-Birkenau, Dachau, Treblinka, etc supposedly were but a famous Jew, Simon Wiesenthal, stated there were no gas chambers there.

England declared war on Germany, and we were England's ally along with the Soviets', who needed our help to defeat Germany. Hitler never officially declared war on U.S., it was just that we were on the opposing side when we did enter the war in Europe.

I'll say this though: Our country today would be in much better shape and would've avoided dire confrontations in the past (cold war, anyone?) if we told the Soviets to piss off and let Germany do their thing. Ironically, so would the Soviets, as they would've most likely become part of Germany's superior system, instead of the communist bolshevik (kinda sounds like "bullshit" huh?, lol) nonsense that plagued them for most of a century.

Actually, I read somewhere that Hitler did declare war on the U.S. during a particularly "fiery" speech. (Somehow the U.S. uncovered a couple of plots as well, blah blah blah...it's been awhile. I'll try to find it later).

The second part is spot-on!

Odd line of reasoning to feel that a country has a broken back if they are not engaging in the military subjugation of foreign powers.

I think war is pretty damned animalistic. But I think the same of sex outside of marriage.

What the hell....we be animals.

Once we entered the war with Japan, war with Germany was inevitable even absent a declaration. The only hurdle which needed to be jumped was convincing people war was necessary. Once thatw as done there was never any doubt we would open a European front.

Patton had it right. After defeating them we should have rearmed the Germans and forced them to help fight the Soviets to push them out of Westerb Europe. All we accomplished was trading one psychotic dictator for another.
