is black history month over yet?

I think it would do much good to get rid of black history month. Not saying that because I am white. Just for other reasons.

Plus, every year it's the same people they pay tribute to which I understand. It gets old though.

If we want equality, then why do we still separate races by having Black History Month, BET, etc.?

ya i agree. this black history month i think is a racial discrimination towards african americans. they must feel singled out cause there isnt a white history month. or vice versa also

I think it would be a good idea to get rid of racism, but that's just me.

Yes it is and to be honest I don't like the term.
Assimilation as in assimilating any event made / created by an American of African decent into 1 month?

No months would be better. Whether it's one month or twelve is irrelevant. It's the fact that you're singling out another race. It's just not necessary and further magnifies a component of this diversity soup were trying to create.

Actually there are 11 of them. The fact that y'all don't get that is proof positive that one is called for. Odd as it may seem but the sooner we all agree that its needed the sooner the day we will no longer need it.

where's white, asian, hispanic, hawaiian history months?

May is Asian Pacific American (APA) Heritage Month—a celebration of Asian and Pacific Islanders in the United States (they combine the Hawaiians and Asians into one month)

Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15.

American Indian Heritage Month is November

Yeah , if you wondering that too...
If you took Europe by nationality how many history months would there be. But that's another problem. How many caucasian people here actually heed and cater to the traditions / history of thier ethnicity?

we do - macedonian. Also, albanian, greek, serbian, bulgarian...We all still respect and practice our traditions and needless say - we look for marriage material preferably in our own nationality mostly cause we want to keep the language, customs, tradition still alive. I said preferbaly cause sometimes it happens that the spouse is not from the same nationality and thats ok.
