say i do low rep, high weight squats on wed, (maybe 5-3 reps, 3 sets )

can i do low rep , high weight deads on friday? or should i wait longer?

depends on the person
the stronger you are, the longer it takes to recover

you might be able to do deadlifts after squats in the same workout in some cases

just don't expect to deadlift heavy every week and live to tell a story :)

similiar to what I am doin as my work schedule dictates it. I bench on the days in between my squats and deads. I know it is intesive but then I take three days off for recovery and call it good. If your lifts stall out readjust your workouts.

I do lighter, more explosive deads two days before my squat day (one day o' rest), but I'm not sure I could do it the other way around. I tend to hit my squats pretty hard and definately need a few days of rest before I work something like deads.

So all I'm saying is that deads before squats I can do with only one day in between.
Not sure I could do the squats first like that, but this is definately just me, I'm sure.

Yes of course you can. I've done it and so far haven't had a problem. But I don't do straight sets. I do 3x5 for deadlifts, and 5x5 for squats, ramping up to my 5 rep max. So for me its very easy to do them with only one day of rest in between. Just like the linear 5x5.

Yes it is possible, I would listen to what your body is telling you.

The muscle may recover, but the central nervous system may not be recovered.

Watch for the signs and symptoms of overtraining, and if you start to lift less, you need more rest.
