again its comments like these that show you don't know very much about the religion of Islam or what it means to be a Muslim. claiming to be a Muslim(claiming anything) does not make you one. usually when people make claims, they are asked for proof to substantiate their claims. so how does one show "proof" they are Muslim? A Muslim is defined by the lifestyle they live/lead everyday which is guided by the teaching of the quraan. A person even remotely familiar with those teaching would never make a comment like the one you just did.

Islam has nothing to do with politics, countries, or Arabs/or any other race. I can go out in the street in any state and ask random people why they don't like islam and i guarantee they'll give me retarded reason that falls into the above categories.

People's fear, hate, prejudices and the actions stemmed from that has been clumped with some type of religion forever now, thus religion is evil and whatnot outcries.

No, I could not pose in a bikini in S.A or drive where i wanted. Now you tell me how much of these laws including the one in this thread that condemns this poor woman to this fate is actually derived from the teachings of the quraan. Force in any form you can think of is forbidden. I couldn't tell you how much women choose to be muslims in those countries and how many are forced(this makes both parties nonmuslims, because its a sin to force islam, and you are not Muslim if you don't truly believe in your heart.)

Im not a Muslim woman, nor are you. You might benfit if you asked a muslim sister here in the US where the government doesn't limit her as much anymore; why she chooses to suppress herself as you put it. I know the answer to this but do you? One of those close Muslim friends i mentioned is a gorgeous blond that worked at hooters and modeled for years. I don't think being stoned to death is as bad as we make it out to be.. it's pretty likely you'd be knocked out cold after the first or second rock, and then you just don't wake up. Is that really much worse than being electrocuted or having poison injected intravenously?


As for getting that punishment for adultery..well it's not our place to judge their culture. I'm sure that won't be a popular opinion, but she's not the first to get this punishment and won't be the last. We've already done too much in trying to change the ways of middle eastern countries. It's far too easy for someone on a message board to play arm chair moral police, but who's going to do something about it? So you want these oppressive laws changed, what is your solution? Send American troops over to save the day? Fuck that shit. We'll police our country and they can police theirs. I'm not trying to be insensitive, but people die every day, some justly and some not.

i'd say yea it's worse, because the first rocks are probly gonna hit you in the mouth and shit and break your teeth out, and smash your toes and kneecaps. it doesn't seem that bad if you only let your mind gently touch on it, but I have had stones whipped at me and it is terrifying.



as for your second paragraph, i had the same exact thoughts as you. i believe it's worthwhile to discuss our values though. i can't think of why right now, but at the very least it is intellectually stimulating and satisfying (for me). Also, one thing we can do about it is contribute to the campaigns of iranian politicians who would oppose those laws. or maybe if the problem is deemed big enough an economist could even find some scientific justification for why that practice is detrimental to a country, and convince iranian scholars that way.

I guess with enough electricity, your brain would shut down almost instantly. Your muscles and nerves would still work, but it would be fried.

I have no idea about lethal injections. Surely they load it up with sedatives.

Now some crimes need to carry death by torture. If someone rapes and murders a child, I'd be for skinning them to death slowly over a two-day period with an electrosurgical pencil (so they wouldn't bleed to death).
