Invisalign Orthodontics

Has anyone here used invisalign braces / orthodontics?
I have had a consult and the pricing is quite expensive (around $5200 US) but its a small price to pay considering that they are not noticeable...

Any experiences or comments?

I have been using them now for about 6 months and I love them.....They cost me about $5k......But, they are great...Take them out when you eat or when ever you do not want them in...They say the longest peroid you can have them out on a daily basis is 2 hours, but I probably have them out about 6 hours and my teeth are still on schedule.....

Hope that helps

I had them and didn't like them because they filed on my teeth to help them move so now some of my bottom teeth are smaller than they should be and it bothers me. I know a few dentists and orthodontists and they all seem to reccomend braces over invisalign.

i had them and loved them. the fact they come out when you eat is great!! i only paid $3600 but got 40% off so yes they are expensive. As for the filing of the teeth, mine were filed on the bottom too. I even had a tooth removed!! it so minute you'll never even notice though. definately worth it!!

Ive had them in since June... no complaints at all... virtually no pain. Cost was $5k, but I think its well worth it. Best part is that I only have to go back to the dr.'s office every 2-3 months.

IMHO they don't work. I mean, they work but not as good as the old school braces. Just the fact that you can take them out means slower action on your teeth and longer periods of time to achieve the same results. Probably you have to take em out before every meal, then wash your teeth, wash those things and put them back. I bet you can do that for 6 months, one year but I'm sure after that you'll start using them less and less...

DJ_UFO: So you haven't used them and you know they don't work? Are you an Orthodontist?
From everything I hear, they work exactly the same but are more expensive...
I agree with having to remove them when eating / clean teeth etc. but IMO, thats a lot better than walking around with metal in my mouth and not getting laid for a year until its taken out...

You're talking from a cosmetic point of view. I'm talking about effectiveness. I believe they work exactly as the braces do. But once you take them out for an hour, that means an hour less of efectiveness compared to regular braces. And I bet everybody get tired of taking the plastic out and back on. At the end, they use them only during the night.

you are incorrect in your assumption. i have had them and they worked great!! you take them out just for eating and once done, you put them back in. the only thing i didnt like about them is the fact that i had to brush them daily to keep them from getting all cruddy from food and such. you wear the same tray for a couple of weeks at a time depending on your movement. anyway, being 30 yrs old and in the sales biz, i would prefer to have the invisalign for cosmetic purps.

just my .02.

peace!!

No, you wear them all day and it's not bad at all lol. They wouldn't work if you wore them just at night. You really have no clue what you are talking about since you obviously have no clue what they are aside from that they are clear and move your teeth lol.

With that being said 10x better looking than braces and you can take them out when you go out on the weekends. Im almost done with my treatment too.
