The internet is known as the greatest source ever for sweat deals All over the net one can find a "omg what a deal" price on a product, and all over the net we can find discounts after discounts after discounts. The internet/online business is on the rise and doing better then ever now.
However lets get real here. Just like any Brick and mortar industry you have your con men, your professional salesmen, sales pitches, flashy deals wrapped up in "hidden fees!" . avoiding buyer's remorse still takes some smart shopping. You must stay alert and watch for the tricks. What till the very end of the order process. That very last second before you hit the "submit payment" button. That is when you need to stop and look at the price!!!!!
Large discounts and good deals on the items you want to buy are only good if they aren't eaten up by additional charges that seem to come out of nowhere. Often only rearing there ugly head that single second before you hit the submit button!!
The most common hidden charge is the shipping fees. Many companies "pray" on customers who foolishly dont factor in the cost that is placed on them for shipping the product. The company may advertise a much lower price then the industry standard and then even give a discount on top of that. Then slam you the customer with shipping costs that are well in excess of their expenses!!! Protein powder happens to be the most abused product in this category. These are the tactics of thieves, crooks and liars and you must watch out for them. In fact if you see a company implementing this tactic you should run far far away. Its speaks volumes about the character of the people running the company.
If a company has a great price on 5lb of protein but then you see at the end of the order they have slapped on 12-13.00 for ground shipping cost. STOP AND RUN!!!!!!!!! they are crooks and praying on you and others. They are purposely trying to swindle people into thinking they are getting a better price then the industry standard then sticking it to people in the end price with over priced shipping fees.
Just to make it clear to everyone. on avg it only cost 6-7.00 to ship 5lb of anything from one side of the country to the other. Not 12, not 13, not 15.00 but 7.00 at most! So if any company is charging you any more then 7.00 to ship your product they have used the scum bag tactic of trying to make a profit of your ignorance. Do you really want to shop with a company like that? even if after all charges applied they have a good price? I know I sure wouldn't want to.
Another way companies get you is taxes. Yes its truly sad but some interent companies charge tax on there bodybuilding sups and whats even worse is some "over tax" you without you even noticing it. Instead of the industry standard tax they will charge 2-3 some times up to 5% more in the tax on the product.
Last some companies still try to get away with the oldest and most vile trick in the book "handling fee" Ya I guess they charge you money because they had to get off there as and handle your order???
The moral of the story is " you need to take all charges into account" and when you are comparing prices of different stores and products dont just compare the price you see before the order is over. Go all the way through the order process with each product. Then compare end price. Don't forget to add them discount codes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is all
come to light is in shipping. Sellers sometimes reduce their prices well below those of the competition, but then add back costs for shipping that are well in excess of their expenses
