Interesting - armsize with no direct arm work

I haven't done any direct armwork for the last 3 months, and my arms are still exactly the same size as when I did a fair bit of armwork :)

forearms are bigger though

And I'm not really doing much upper bopdy work either - just a few sets of military presses and some fairly light rows.

Olys might help a bit, but not that much

Before I finished reading your post I assumed you were doing heavy press and pulls, bench, dips, rows, pullups. WTF?

How bout being more specific with your training, I'm a bit confused. :D

But I do agree that compound movements are how you get big arms. Isolation crap is basically for fun.

Cool The guy I train with, his arms grew like 2 inches in the last 2 years, and he hardly ever trains his arms. Mostly just heavy benching, and sometimes heavy back work. Me, Im afraid to stop training my arms haha. His arms are 17.5 mine are 17.75, so until I see his arms hit 18 inches without any direct arm work, will probabally stick to my routine just to be safe. =)

CCJ doesnt train train his arms directly cause he would probaby overtrain them if he did, his oly routines keep his arms in good shape!!!!

Genetics. Do you have long muscles in your arms? I've never seen you, so I couldn't say, as others here obviously have. Biceps from front delt to elbow joint, are almost always going to grow from simply doing Back. I am blessed with good biceps(that's about it), and I do like 4 sets a month for them, otherwise(if I did 10 sets per routine, as I do for Tris) they would look awkward in comparison to my tris. The tris are supposed to be bigger, and in my case(again, if I worked Bis as much as tris), the bis would overwhelm the triceps. Why? Genetics, my son! So anyhow, I do 10 sets for tris, then 2 sets of light as fuck cables curls, then concentration dbell curls(2 sets), and thats it. Bis, I only tain every other Arm routine as well.

Yeah, its something like your Tri's makes up 2/3rd and Bi's makes up 1/3rd of your arm size.
However, I have to work my biceps as they are very stubborn and dont grow as well as I would like them to and my Tri's are ok.
I do about 9-10 sets for my biceps once a week but right now I'm doing the 5x5 (NS method) to shock the bi's to help them along, hopefully they'll grow abit!

I'd be seriously concerned if they SHRUNK with the amount of quality lifting you do, despite not really hitting them even indirectly.

Maybe its more significant that they haven't grown?

Not like you really care anyway ;)

Bodyweight is more or less the same, I bounce between 94 and 96kg. So no change there, even though my legs and hips are quite a bit bigger, maybe I'm getting leaner? :)

I don't even bench or chin anymore.
Like I said - military presses and some relatively light rows
is all I do for direct upper body work.

My muscle bellies aren't that long, I have short biceps actually, good 1.5 inch gap between the tendon and msucle.
Maybe my triceps are about avergae in belly length.

But I figure oly pulls and jerks would overload the arms quiet a bit. But still it's mostly static, perhaps they can maintain size but not really put it on, who knows.
The presses do hit the outter triceps a bit.
But I never get a pump in my triceps and biceps, at least nothing like I used to get :D

My shoulders are starting to dwarf my arms though, arms aren't big anyway :P
