Injured my back in week 10 of my cycle

A few weeks back my back was bothering me, nothing bad just felt like I had to crack it or something. Had it happen several times over the years. Any way it was leg day and I was planning on taking it easy. Did my whole squat set fine, good weights and depth. Then decided to do deads. Put my warm up 225 on and did my first second I felt this incredibly painful stretch/ripping feeling in my lower back. Right above my ass and left of my spine.

Any way I could barely walk afterwards to my truck. Saw the doc and had to skip the gym entirely for 12 days straight. I have not missed a single workout since December 27th. On top of that I was in week ten of my 12 weeker. I can already feel a difference in strength and my weight when I went in for my follow up visit to the Dr's was down 12 pounds. Fucking sucks.

I just wanted a place to share my misery, and bad end to a great cycle. On a positive note I'm stronger now than before I started but the loss of the weight I gained and not being able to finish up the last two weld has bummed me out big time. Can't wait to get back on the horse.

Back still is not 100% but I'm able to work out. Going to workout legs tomorrow for the first time since I injured the back. Have a good night brothers.

I am not moving the type of weight that you are so take this fwiw. Doing hyperextensions really stretches out my hammies, gluets and lower back. When the pain has substantially subsided try doing a set and make sure to go slow on the up.

Good luck [and take it easy until it feels better!]

Goodluck with that Dabangum! ! Listen! Let your back heal completely before even attempting to lift again! I've had three back surgeries to remove my L-5 disc back in the early 90's when I kickboxed competitively and I had the third surgery as a result of starting back training to soon! Rest, let YOUR BACK HEAL. Then get back in the gym and rip it up! Good luck my friend !

That's the hard part. When I weighed in at my doc appt. Last Wednesday I asked the lady if the scale was right. It's hard now that I'm able to move around I have been going back to the gym. Working out but not doing exercises that require my core to stabilize my body. Like squats, deads, etc. Trying to keep my head up an it's hard especially as this is my first back injury of any kind.

Most people on this board have self trained themselves to push through pain and keep going. When you have an INJURY that is the worst thing you can do, but it is hard to over come you instinct that you should work through it, and the internal echo of that sentiment in the back of your head that is telling you you're just being a wimp.

I've been there and it is brutal. Listen to the rational part of your mind or you can make it a lot worse.
