Infection damn it!

Just go to the fucking Dr already. My friend dilly-dallyed like you, got staph, lost 40 lbs and incurred about $20K in med expenses. I kept telling him to go. Finally he went after it was too late. And just because you're not feeling any symptoms(fever, etc) doesn't mean you're not gonna be in a world of hurt very soon. There is no distinct pattern for these kinds of things. Crossing the line into a serious situation requiring immediate medical treatment(to save your life/limbs) can happen in an instant and without prior symptoms.

Thanks BigC actually I was going to Dilly Dailly but your previous post weighed on my mind and I decided not to screw around. I have an 8:30 a.m. Doctors appointment tomorrow morning for it, since my docs temp replacement (shes on maternity leave) leaves at noon. Now, I could sure use excuses as to why I believe I have a staph infection. I am thinking I rolled onto a needle someone left on the floor and it became swollen. I dont want to tell everyone in the world the real reason!

Tell her you do IM B-12. Harmless and lot's of people do it. Tell her you were out of syringes and were reusing them. Be really sheepish and apologetic...

I told them I had no idea what caused mine. The Dr. actually told me a lot of athletes like wrestlers and football players are getting them these days. It could be from an ingrown hair or let's say you shaved your leg and then used some sweaty exercise bench at the gym. Either way they didn't ask or prod too much as to what caused it. They just shot me up with an antibiotic, gave me 40 perc 10 pills and a shit load of bactrim to take home. They told me if it get's any worse to come back and they would drain it, which I did a few days later. Don't worry about what they will ask, this shit happens to everyone from a stay at home mom to homeless guys. It's not just gear heads like us. Good luck with your visit and if you have insurance and it gets worse tonight, head to the er. That's what I did. I think they ask less questions there anyway.

what i would do is tell them you either tried b-12 for the first time and had no clue and think you might have not been sterile(play dumb and sorry as mentioned above)
however the good thing about the delt is it could get poked by a rusty piece of metal easily as opposed to your glute. you will be fine. yes my spelling on cephulexan or whatever was wrong but its a great antibiotic
