In One Week -- I Step On Stage

Here's a very impromptu cell phone pic. Not too bad for 59, eh?

I think I'm as ready as I can be. I actually overshot the weight. Went From 195 to 185 in 5 weeks. This last week I believe I can actually eat a little more. In a way, I think it's best to cut fat first. Guys try to bulk up then kill themselves trying to get cut. It makes no sense. It's amazing what you can do with just controlling calories. Fuck, for the first time in my life I have veins in my thighs! That's cause I didn't get fancy. Went old school all the way.

I'm also not worrying about salt or dehydrating or all that other stuff that people do to dial it in and just wind up looking flat. All I need to do now is tan.

No stims. No cardio.

Lots of supps but the mainstay was GEAR -- 30 caps a day.

Total cycle -- except for a few orals I had left over to kick start the first 2 weeks (never going over 20 mgs a day) I used 300 mgs of test and 300 mgs of primo. Last week I started 50 mgs of Proviron a day.

Let the chips fall where they may. Wish me luck.

Thanks guys. If there's a lesson to come out of any of this it's to never get out of shape. I haven't trained all-out in years, but I've never gotten out of shape. I haven't done a cycle in years either. And I've only been using the extra T and primo for 5 weeks -- the time it's just supposed to be "kicking in. " lol So, although I may have had my differences with some people in regard to dosages and lengths of cycles, I'd say I've walked the walk to make my point.

The key to successful steroid usage is to train in a way that makes the most of the steroids. Most guys want the steroids to make the most of their sub-par training.

Also, no cardio. Zero. None. Never stepped on a treadmill. Never jogged a minute. BUT...I keep rest between sets short. I walk several miles a day and ride my bike for transportation. But I don't see that as exercise. It's just life. It's the way it's supposed to be.

One more reminder. People have got to lose this notion that oatmeal , fruit and rice are diet foods. They're shit. The worst crap you can eat when trying to cut. Hell, I ate a little bread and potatoes now and then. You don't have to go crazy. But oatmeal is like a plate of starch that requires a ton of effort to burn off. So what do guys do? Tons of cardio! To burn off what they shouldn't have eaten in the first place!

Again, I cannot and did not use any stims or GH. No caffeine beyond a morning cup of coffee. And I'm 59 fucking years old. My metabolism isn't what it was when I was 30. The answer to that is....you just have to dig deeper and do more. THAT is bodybuilding. And that is what I always loved about it. Prepping for this show has reminded me how awesome that can be.

i think living in an urban place really helps. people who live in the big cities are typically all in good shape. the ones who live in rural america typically are fat. anyone who has been in the deep south/texas can notice 99% of people are overweight it seems.

my only issue with city life though is the noise.. i like it quiet and i like my own land/space. but your point that walking miles a day and riding your bicycle is the way it should be is 100% right on.. today we drive our cars to the grocery store to buy food.. 10000 years ago we would walk to find our food. its all about lifestyle.

Very true. I live in rural TX and its almost impossible to take a walk. Just about every other car will stop and attempt to give you a ride. They'll almost take offense if you don't let them help out. My mom lived in CA and moved down the road from me here in TX. She's walked for the last 20 years. After 1 yr in rural tx, she quit walking.

Damn Nelson, no wonder you're in such good shape. Us Fatties in TX would consider that heavy cardio.

the only cardio people in texas do is parking their trucks at walmart and walking inside to shop. but i've noticed a lot of them now use those electronic buggies now. as soon as they walk in they hop on and they are g2g. anything to spare them having to do any exercise is a plus

Switching up cardio usually means going from bait fishing to lure fishing (more casting = more calories burned).

Nelson, you're one of the best looking 59 y/os I've ever seen, good luck to you during the competition. :)

Very VERY impressing to say at least! I hope only the very best for you! You are truly inspiration to me, and walking proof that anything can be achieved, no matter what stans in our way, nothing can stop one achieving his goals! Be it age, or injury like in my case. I'm going under knife for knee surgery in few months, and that means I wil basicly have to start training allmoust from the beginning... But that"s OK, and hopefully exaggeration. Besides this is not about me, just wanted you to know that the way/attitude you have had to your contest prep, and towards AAS use has inflicted someone very deeply and clearly.
My best wishes to contest Brother!

Nelson, again, good luck and best wishes. I expect to see photos from the show!

Will do.

One other tip I forgot to mention for dropping weight...

Sometimes when my brain says "snack time" it's hard to resist. So I found a simple cure. I get a big ass bottle of flavored seltzer. That fills you up! Just enough to subsides the hunger pangs for another hour or so. Then sometimes you realize you're not really that hungry. PLUS, your stomach shrinks a little. It works.

Bring your dog. I live in rural PA and I get the same thing. People can't imagine why I'm just walking up the road. I've had 3 different people stop and ask what's wrong during 1 3 mile walk.
But when I bring my dog no one bothers me.

Nelson, you mean to tell me a moderate carb diet with a slight calorie restriction will cause weight loss?
You have to be kidding me!
You have no idea what you're talking about! :D

Finally the day of success approaches, looking good and the best of luck to you.

Tomorrow's the day.

I think I dialed it it. It's funny, I actually felt I needed to eat a bit more this week to fill out. Today though, it'll just be Shredded Wheat, salad and GEAR caps! lol

Today is the only day I'll be dehydrating, but not by avoiding water (which is a big mistake) but by drinking a ton of it. Then tmrw, just avoid liquids.

I can't promise a win or even a placing, but I can honestly say I couldn't have done any better -- short of taking tren or GH or clen, or stupid dosages and I wasn't going to do that. This was about seeing what I had left in the tank from balls out training and a disciplined diet. I think I also proved my credo that you don't need a gram of gear for months on end to improve progress but use just enough to get an edge. (My cycle totaled 6 weeks). Then use the proper supplements to get that extra 5%. That's what the old timers did. And I hope more people in the future follow this philosophy.

Stay strong brothers.

I can't promis
