In a slump. Need to share it with someone.

So since the ex and I split about a month ago, i have become a waste of space. I barely train 2x a week. I eat shitty. I am depressed. Drink every weekend as if it will make things better. I need to get out of this run but it seems hopeless right now. I really miss my life with my ex and it's all I think about. Just about brings me to tears. Even having bad thoughts lately about life.

So I am going to see a Psycologist tomorrow in order to get in to a psychiatrists referral for my anxiety meds. I am wondering if I should even get into this shit with him. They will just want me to keep coming to deal with my issues, but I just want my script filled. Might need the help, but don't want to be put on any more meds. I'm on clonazepam for my anxiety btw.

It sux going from being in a relationship where you think you are unhappy to being out of one and truely unhappy.

Funny thing is you guys are really all I have to share this shit with. it used to be her. If I talk to my mom she will just worry.

Any words of wisdom for a guy down in the dumps?

The day I stopped giving a $hit whether a woman stayed or go was the best day of the rest of my life. Live and let live, don't worry or mope about things not in your control.

Easier said than done my friend. I wish it were that simple.

Stay strong brother. They need to develop a steroid that will make us emotionally strong too. A lot of us big dudes are big teddy bears.

Time will make it better.

yeah I was in a special place and situation to accomplish this. :D
but I am def glad I did.. hope you feel better man,. usually sex with other women helps you get over it too,.

I know I should focus on training and shit. Doing a cycle sounds like a good idea, but i don't have the scratch right now. My HRT clinic is too spendy for me to pony up for anything decent right now.

As far as the sex with women goes, sure it may help short term, but then what?

Stuck in this god damn state with no friends or family and there aint shit to do. If not for my job, I'd head back to MN.

I need to quit my fucking whining

Several billion more where these came from.

If you are going to do on psych meds I would lay off the AAS until you get your head on straight.

Hang in there. My advice is to get on a schedule, drop the booze, hang out with some good bros and focus on something positive. It is difficult but you will make it through!

Sorry for your loss man..

The ending of a relationship, marriage, or long term is just like a death of a family member. It takes time, and there will be days that are good, and days that are bad, you just have to realize that it will get better.

Take the time to mourn the loss of that relationship, don't become dependent on the meds they really don't help, trust me on that one, nothing goes away that time won't fix..

Hey Bro,
why did you break up with her. Were you just being selfish over some stuff and thought the grass would be greener without her. I don't know the whole situation, but if you miss her then why not give her a call. Maybe you quit and you shouldn't have. I never quit when things are tough and crapy, I always regret those decisions. Sorry things are so crapy for you.

why no friends? lost contact when u was in the relationship? that is never good bro.. never lose touch with friends .. perhaps try and repair some of your best friendships.. will bring your spirts up ...that and training/good diet should help tons

I wrote a thread about it a while back-

Basically she took me for granted, and I her. We had a fight that got out of control and I decided to end it there. I think in the long run, it's for the best, but it sure doesn't feel that way right now. Besides she is pretty un emotional and seeems to be over and past it last we spoke. i think she has a new dude already too. Either way,, going back isn't gonna happen without anything short of a miracle. Even then I don't know if I would, as much as I want to. But then what about the next time?

No. Moved out of state for work and never really made any outside of work since. Dudes at work are cool and all, but we've never really done shit outside of work. My ex made me feel guily just for going to the gym so going out with a friend was out of the question.

gotcha bro, I would try to put up fronts like that with people. They don't always work though. But yeah bro, follow your heart man, you know what you want. Don't become a hermit and get out. Go home for a weekend, go to the gym, park, just don't lock your self in at home. That won't help the situation. Learn from the past and move on.

during/after i divorced my she-beast---they say men do not have the social support networks that women have in place (even though they back stab the hell out of each other), thus men can feel alone and jump right into another relationship---my advice, focus the energy--even half way on something--anything and let time work its magic....

I know that this is the typical post, but 'hang in there', bro. It can only get better. It could be worse. You could be in Iraq, dodging sniper fire.

^^I agree with Eddy here.

I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but how much can you beat a dead horse before you're satisfied?

Think about it. Is there any logic or reason in what you're doing, or just silly, knee jerk emotions?

That's exactly what I think it is. i know I need to snap out of it, just having a tough time getting there.

I am going back to MN next weekend. Took 5 days for Memorial weekend. Gonna go see my mom, sis and her kids. That always helps. Hopefully catch up with some friends too.

Good plan bro.

Remember, you can waste all the time in the world being a passenger on your own bus..or...

You can step up and drive the fucker

Good luck to you.

yes friends and family will do wonders for the spirt .. no wonder u feel like shit .. u work .. come home .. drink and eat like crap alone .. and repeat .. nothing enjoyable about that life style ..if u improve your lifestyle .. your spirts will give lift in due time

i promise you will feel better and better as time goes by. In the mean time what are your hobbies, bro; there is a lot of fun shit to do out there!

Perhaps you wont need any addtl medication other than what you're on right now. Talking to someone (therapist) could definitely help. YOu're going through something right now and feeling down and out is expected at a time like this. It's only been a month, dude. It WILL get better with more time. YOu ended a very serious relationship. That's by no means an easy thing to do and to get over. But you will.

I've been in your position bro. probably worse. I hate telling this story over and over again because i feel like it's a broken record, but you weren't around when i was going through all this shit so i figure i share it with you as it may help you.

I was with a girl that i loved for over 3 years...she was brilliant, absolutely stunning, fun, charismatic, passionate and thought the exact same way as me. We fell deeply in love instantly and thought we were soulmates. I thought she was a wonderful person and that we were going to be together forever. We more or less lived like a married couple and I was probably a year away from getting engaged to her. We always talked about our future plans and working towards building a great life together. She had alot of problems and baggage but i sacrificed my life to help her through it. In the process i destroyed my own life but i was able to help her through it and eventually rebound. She decided she wanted to go back to school (in another state where she had scholarships) and i at the time had a huge business opportunity and was working 12-14 hours. I paid for her to move back and supported her financially for most of the time we were together.

Well...about 6-7 months after she moved back to Atlanta i found out she had another boyfriend up there the entire time she was up there. Even though i would fly her down to see me and i was supporting her(financially and otherwise), she completely deceived me. I saw pictures of them together and she simply refered to me as "her boss" amongst her friends according to her myspace comments. She used me for the support and a safety blanket and went to great extents to hide everything. I had just bought her a car about 2 weeks before....on top of that she had our dog (which i wanted her to take up there so she wouldn't be alone) that was like a son to both of us. I realized i would never see him again after that

I honestly felt like someone reached into my body, grabbed my soul and ripped it out. I would have done anything for her.

This was 15 months ago....
I was a COMPLETE mess. Not only that, the following month by industry took a huge hit and my business basically failed. My life was in shambles

It was the hardest thing i've ever had to deal with so far in my life. I pretty much stopped working and would lay on bed depressed and think about her all day. I had to deal with instrusive thoughts of them together from the pictures i saw etc. nightmares...you name it. For 3-4 months i was useless. The only things i did was lift (i IMMEDIATELY started hitting the gym hard because i had become out of shape from being with her and focusing on work) and party. At first it helped(the partying), and hooking up with other girls took my mind off it temporarily but it was all a smoke screen.

however, i realized pretty quickly...that my family and friends were there for me. I also started seeing my shrink on a regular basis (instead of him just dispensing ADHD meds). He helped me alot. And the most important thing was, i focused on MYSELF and my life. And that having another person to make you happy will never be fulfilling. You have to love yourself before anything, and be ok with being single/alone.

Now, i didn't go on antidepressants....becuase i'm not a firm beleiver in them, but maybe i should have.
You DON'T need anxiety meds. You might need anti depressants at this point, but only take them temporarily till this "mourning" period subsides. There is NOTHING wrong with the way you are feeling now. It's completely human. You're not a pussy, you're not weak. You're strong for even being able to deal with it without anyone to talk to.

Honestly until about a month ago i wasn't fully over her. But now i am. It took along time and alot of pain, but it gets better. i promise you that. As long as you focus on yourself and your own happiness, you will be ok. Picture what you want to be in life and GO for it. The right women will find you. You're obviously hurting now because you are so used to a certain lifestyle and habits and to have it pulled from you is a huge shock to your body and your brain. It is scary because it is the unknown..and the natural reaction to the unknown is fear. But you have to reinvent yourself...you have to create new memories and experiences to lesson the impact of this.

I thought it about it the other day...and i swear to god, as a result i'd never regret or feel too bad about what happened.I realized i wouldn't have been back on EF if it wasn't for her doing that to me. I came back to get back into lifting and also vent. In that time, i've learned so much more, grown as a person and more importantly i've forged great relationships on and off the board with people here. I wouldn't trade that for a fuckin thing in the world. I have people i consider my brothers on here and that were there for me when i was going through this shit. They were just as vital as my friends and family. Not only that, but in your case you KNEW she wasn't good for you. You saved yourself from a lifetime of misery or a terrible divorce by making the right decision. THe price you made for a few months of misery is well worth it instead of a lifetime of one.

You're gonna feel this way for awhile. It's just natural, but you have to gut it out day by day and MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT BY YOURSELF AND SITTING AT HOME. You won't do anything but think about it if you are isolated. When you around people and laughing and such, it is easier to move on with your life. Don't fool yourself by thinking drinking and partying will change the way you feel. I recommend you go out and have fun, but don't go crazy or overdo it.

I know you can do it dude, and if you need to talk PM me. If i made it through it you will too. Our wounds are what mold us as people.

good luck brosky

Danger, Danger Will Robinson!

Be glad you got out alive. That's a massive red flag, unless you wanted to go on like that for the rest of your life.

Now stop drinking, be careful about anti-d's (take for a while at most -- don't make them a way of life) and get some tail so you'll stop thinking she's got the only vag on the planet.

Follow sound anti-depression routine too (get on a regular schedule, plan, regulate TV watching, no drugs, etc. etc.)

oh...and as non serious as stringbeans post sounds...

the first cycle i did after all of the above happened, i felt like GOD. First time i had touched steroids in 3 years.

I got most of my size back, hooked up with some gorgeous girls, and felt like a milion bucks in general. It was the confidence boost i needed to restore my self worth, at least from a physical standpoint and to reinforce the ability in my mind to attract good looking girls. I swear, whenever i go on (at first..first couple of weeks), girls can just smell the test running through your body. I can't explain it, but it happens everytime.
It was the boost i needed. However i stayed on too long and when i came off i shrunk a good bit. PCT sucked balls

i think i'm just gonna stay on forever lol (HRT dose when i cruise)

Test is the ultimate antidepressant. Until "nifty little every day pills" that give people ED and weight gain, testosterone was the standard treatment of depression in men.

Oh and Plunkey- I know what you're saying. It got to a point where I said I'm not gonna live like this forever. I need to get out no matter how much I love her.

CW, never reget that pain you went through. That pain invested in your wisdom.
HardRock, breaking up is a painful process.
If you know in your heart it's over with your ex, letting go will come quicker than you think. If you broke up because of pride and regret it, you're going to have a tougher time getter over it.

Make a pro's and cons list... I always did that if I felt sad about a break up. Con's always outweigh the pro's in most of my break ups.

Cons always outweight pros in healthy-happy relationships.

High heels, thigh highs, and short skirts outweigh anything happy and healthy.

If you want companionship, get a dog.

Take whatever you're paying the psych, and paypal me instead. I'm far better.

This is the end result of DEPENDING YOUR HAPPINESS ON SOMEONE ELSE.

And if that someone leaves you (this planet has had what, 19 billion breakups in history?), you're now fubared. Cuz you were emotionally dependent upon them.

Find happiness in YOURSELF first, THEN date other people. Otherwise, guess what - you're gonna revisit this again on the NEXT relationship.

People lik you have no business dating until you fix your life first. Poor woman, she probably dumped you because your neediness (never listen to their words, but what they mean).

Go do that. Then post here. Next time I'll give you a 10% discount.

Yup yup! Don't morn too much over a near-miss relationship. That happens. Just be happy you didn't try to force a near-miss into a must-have one! That's years and years (decades, even) of misery and grief.

Hell, celebrate that you avoided the trap of settling for a "good enough" relationship!

Ya know what Razor, I have always respected as a member of elite, but fuck you. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about. I wasn't needy. I didn't depend on her. I loved her you asshole.

She just turned into a different person. She was the needy one. Requiring all of my time and I ended up miserable half the time. The last fight we had made me ralize that it just wasn't going to work so I left.

If you're gonna be an ass, then keep your 2cent opinions and advice to yourself.

Don't you have a celebrity to stalk or make up some story about anyway?

I do feel a bit better today. I went to see that psycologist and it felt good to tell someone in person what's going on in my head and life. I also got my referral to the psych so I can get my anxiety meds refilled.

I left feeling great. Went to the gym and had an awesome workout. I feel pretty good right now. Or did until I read Razors post. That shit just pissed me off.

razor is a fuckin douche. don't worry about him

it's generally accepted by everyone he has no clue what he talks about ever. He thinks because he watched a David Deangelo DVD he knows about women.

i'm surprised he hasn't gotten stomped out in real life by some LA chicano. probably just keeps his mouth shut around people and thats why hes such a jackass here

that dude is the opposite of charismastic i don't know what that is

douchey?

Force yourself to train if you can, even if you are just going through the motions. Create a bunch of daily routines and to do lists for yourself to obsess over instead of obsessing over your ex. Obsession is a generalized response in my opinion and it can be at least somewhat transfered to another object. With that in mind, do not date or fuck anyone for a while. You will likely fall victim to 'rebound relationship syndrome' which is the result of transferring your obsession from your ex to your new girlfriend/fuck. You might want to find a shrink who can get to the bottom of why you feel you need a girl in your life to be worth something. Perhaps a shrink that will help you analyze your issues and create resolutions is more useful at this point than someone who will medicate you into numbness. You're already performing that service for yourself by drinking and apparently it isn't working or you wouldn't be asking us for help.

Good luck with your endeavor. I hope it works out for you.

You just proved why she's not with you. You're easy to read. Lates
