And warik, don't believe in mystical forces, but you base your beliefs on what? Most people would base such belief on moral or religious grounds.
I base my beliefs on sense experience and how I interpret things. I don't base my beliefs on moral grounds because moral systems are developed by people who I feel are immoral and/or quite illogical in how they formulated these systems. Examples are Kant/Mill/The Other Utilitarian Guy/Aristotle all of whom I've been "learning" about in philosophy class. All bullshit when you look at it closely.
Religious grounds? The Bible, the Koran, the <insert all other "The Book" titles here corresponding to all religions> were all written by men. All of the books have some good in them, and all of them have some ridiculous things in them. The day I take the moral principles presented in a book as fact is the day the author is God himself.
I'm not saying that gays are bad people or are people one may not want to do business with or share an office with. I'm simply pointing out that it's abnormal behavior and my future sons and/or daughters would truly break my heart if they came to me with that shit. It's like a spit in the face of one's upbringing.
"Yes dad you always bought me the wrestling toys, the board games, and the computer instead of the barbies and powerpuff girl toys... you forced me to watch He-Man, Superman, the Incredible Hulk, and Batman instead of chick cartoons and movies... you always gave me money to take girls out... you bought me nice clothes and forced me to stay away from the flamboyant stuff... you refused to let me mutilate my body and hair like those limp-wristed guys with weirdo voices at school do (what's wrong with them anyway dad?) but I'm sorry to report that I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO gay that the red cross won't even take blood from me anymore."
Makes a man want to hang himself.
