I'm pretty disturbed about something (seriously)

Wasn't bombing presented to us as plats as way of "helping to moderate the boards"?

I think a lot of people need to chill. Very cool the way BRR and mods are handling it allowing both parties back with a second chance.

As for the cursing people, you start saying fuck you to someone, I would expect a little red in return.

Question for ya... In your Division/county. Are there 4-5 kids that just fuck everybody up, I mean like little phenoms that won the county/division tourney 3-4 years in a row... Maybe even took the state championship a couple of times?


Just imagine that in College Div .1 EVERYBODY is a 2-3 times county/state champion, HS national champs and place winners. Nobody gets a schoolarship to a Div .1 school unless they won a state tittle or two. Not only do you have to wrestle these guys but you also have to WIN to keep your spot on the team...

i'd say it worked better than expected. we bombed the fuck out of the guy who ultimately got banned :coffee: granted we threw in a few insults, but nothing worse than he was flaming away with

I wrestled high school and the BEST guy in our entire league didn't even go Div 1.. and I he was NEVER beaten his senior year!!

For me, I was light, but never really mastered the skills... like everyone I just wanted to play sports year round to be cool.

i know exactly what your talking about.

we had 3 star seniors on our team(not gunna give any details just for their privacy i guess) llike that last year and one guy who is/is gunna do great things this year and next year. 2 of the seniors wen tto college and i talk to em about it when i see em and online sometimes and its just sick when i think of how good these kids are and then think that everyone is like them or better on the college teams
 
maybe there needs to be a separate karma box choice for a bomb, separate from just plain red. as it is now, you can't express simple displeasure as opposed to ANGER without dropping a bomb along with your red.

if you use this I expect royalties.
 
Man, so many different things going on in this thread that I'm gonna weigh in using point form:

-TT was out of line, no need to be so derogatory

-Bombing can get out of hand sometimes...a little dab of good ol' fashioned red K can go a long way...bombs should be for serious cases. Do Plats have a way to chose to send red only sans-bomb? If not, they should

-trashing the board shouldn't be allowed. trashing mods, or even admins who you felt have treated you unfairly should be tolerated within reason when there's some basis, but trashing EF is uncalled for. EF is just a container in cyberspace; it is incapable of administering an injustice, and thus should never be blamed

I gotta disagree about that one. EF is a living, breathing thing. Criticising EF is like criticising the NFL or something, you can do it and have a valid point.

Human make decisions that go into what happens on EF and the disciplinary decisions handed down by such.

I:m just disagreeing with your one sub point. THe question of wheter it shoudl eb tolerated is another point.

I think George is really big on free speech. I think criticism to a certain extent should be tolerated; saying "hey this board sucks" in a moment of anger deserves a lesser punishment. saying "this board fucking sucks. the people who run it are a bunch of nazis, here are some other boards everyone should check out that are better :www.ffdsfsd.com., www.merrf.com is good for stuff, etc" is a more serious offense.

i bombed him, but ONLY after I read his posts. I didnt bomb indiscriminantly (sp?)

i also started a thread minutes later that was deleted. it was just a simple not to TT that you cant expect to degrade members, especially senior members and females, and get away scott free. if you want to differ in opinions fine, but i dont think actual insults have any place here.

to those who criticize (sp.) mods... to lead, you have to take the consequences of your actions. they ARE here to help, but they are not perfect... the mere "human" element involved makes it tough...

but if you look at the big picture, they ARE here to help. if we let everyone say anything all the time we would have chaos and everyone would leave...

to those who say open critical comments about EF should be allowed, let me say this.

EF is a business, dont ever think its not. how long do you think you would last if you walked into your gym one day and started bitching out the owners and the place and telling them to go to xxx gym.... sure its free speech, but how long do you think it would take for the dude to get thrown out?

i understand both points. just a couple notes...

the bombing system needs to be revamped period.

we need the ability to give red without a bomb.

even if it were revamped now i still would have bombed TT... i think we put good use to those bombs and I also thought it was appropriate.

unfortunately plenty of people have been taking the bombs VERY seriously.

I think in this situation they worked as designed, the members got together and collectively silenced someone who was getting out of line.

Both people should have been more respectful.
