My therapist says I should get a pet. I haven't had one since my last boxer died when he was 16 years old (I used to raise them). I've decided on a green-cheeked conure (for those who don't know what that is, its a very intelligent bird, related to a parrot, that can be taught to talk). I'm going to pick him up on Friday.

Get ready for Bird Shit squirted all the way across the room bro..

And seeds all over the damn place..
And squawking .. till you want to batter and fry it..

For some reason, birds make me nervous. I don't like them, and they don't like me.

I am gonna get me a kitty and lick it... thank you very much.

brandonxi, I'm going to teach him to wistle at hot girls when they walk by.

No, for really fat girls he'll say, "That's one biiiiiiiiig bitch."

I don't mind noise smurfy.

Sorry poyeboy, tren isn't good for birds. Besides that leaves less for me.

seriously- birds creep me out... prolly cause the are cold blooded - like little feathereed lizards....

LOL @ CM

Becoming, well you are a bio major (at least I remember you saying you were, if not my bad), you already know that they are dinosaurs (well the only remaining decenants at least), and that they are not cold-blooded... nor were most dinosaurs (why would a cold blooded animal need feathers?).

Anywho I've got to start working on his potty training. He crapped on me 3 times today. He's only 7 weeks old so he can't talk yet.

At first I thought you were going to say a gerbil and that had me worried.

Birds can be pretty cool, My friend had a macaw that danced along to hop-hop.

Cheers,
Scotsman

I would have gotten a macaw, but my budget doesn't allow for it. Conures are much smaller parrots than macaws.

The only thing I can think of that's more entertaining than a pet bird would be a pet spatula. BBF, why does your therapist think you need a pet? I assume it's for some sort of companionship he/she thinks you need in your life. Wouldn't you be better off getting another dog? Or is that too much work. I want a dog in a big way but won't get one until I move out of my apartment and get a house. I want a big ass lab or golden retriever.

supersizeme, she thinks I need some companionship outside of picking up a new girl every week (she did conclude that I'm actually a sex addict). Another dog would be nice except I live in an apartment, I have all black furniture and I have alot of rice paper (an entire wall plus one of the end tables in my living room).

Yeah I went with him to look at birds one time and they had some conures. I just like that out of the blue one day the macaw put his crest up and started dancing, along to this hip-hop video on tv, wings out and bouncing up and down on one leg it was awesome.

My tarantula has been the best pet ever. It never makes any noise, it doesn't smell, it doesn't require any attention. It just exits.

HAHA... this is to all the Dutch guys on here... if you read this

A friend of mine has a parrot, who still says:

At Your Service, Nederland is Vol!

I think they even named it Pim

Not a bird fan at all. I don't trust any animal where I can't read it's expression.

This from a man who has his face covered with a hanky....

Cats are the best pets. Smart, cute, and self-sufficient. You can leave a dry-food feader out for it(with water too), and leave for a weekend. They will be fine.

Got it, CC, if I recall from previous avatars you have alot of tats. Anywho, I can see a couple in the pic in this avatar.

are you gonna clip his wings? i always thought that was pretty harsh...my boss is a big bird guy, got a few pigeons and a parrot...his birds are fucking sweet pets. he lets them fly around outside for the day and they always come back at night...

jenscat, I'll see if I can make some, I'm at my mom and dad's for the weekend, and I'll use their web cam.

I've got a son now, My daughter's 3 month old dog. I'm getting attached to the little shit which is not normal for me. He's extremely smart. I got mad at him for crapping on the floor and put him outside. He started shaking like a leaf on a tree. I felt sorry for the little shit and let him back in and had a little talk with him. I think I can get him to mind better than my daughter. If he knocks over the trash, he will immediately go and hide because he knows his little ass is in trouble. He waits it out until I've forgotten about it. Smart dog.
