A gun is nothing but a tool...it wether you have the ability to use it....a large part of that is your appeal to the weapon. Sound stupid but its true.
I have trained guys who tell me they can only shoot a flat/square top gun like a glock and I laugh. No matter how hard I try and get them to just worry about the sight picture and not the gun they can't get pass there hang ups.
Guns are like car and bikes everyone is different and even guns of the same model have a different feel to them. This is very true of auto's.

basically Smith took a deal from Clinton/Gore that if they prefected a certain type of gun that limits use to one user then they would make sure police depeartments and other government agencies would use Smith exclusively thus putting the other gun makers under. Glock, taurus, ruger to name a few would not take the deal, but Smith did so now the son of a bitches should pay for selling out to Clinton.

Not only that, but the Government screwed S&W over by going with another manufacturer after all! Last I heard, S&W was closing factories. Serves 'em right. The fuckers.

Thats were I go first when the shit hits the fan.
The 686 rock and the 915....yeah it was cheap....but with some sights and trigger job it can't be beat. Plus I'm holding 18 rounds in it.

The handgun that fits me best is browning Hi power. I just have to have DA.

My old Glock 27 was perfect for CCW. Unfortunately, .40 is a wee bit too expensive for plinking, so I sold it and bought a 19. 9mm is just so available and inexpensive. And it's enough power for a defense round, especially some nice Aqua Shoks...

12 round mag. Plenty of ammo, plenty of stopping power.
