I'm back and I must say I love the Navy...

If they ever drafted me i'd enlist so I don't go into the fucking Marines.

That's what they used to draft ppl into. Get drafted ya go into the Marines. Sign up and go where ya want.

no, why does being hit on or having people try to pick a woman up bother her? I've had female friends tell me they hate the attention too. It must be different for a woman, to view attention from the opposite sex as a bad thing.

Have fun in the gulf, doing the crews laundry on the S.S. lollipop.

YEP, you military people really put your life on the line, tough job. this is the bullshit that I'm talking about. SERVING YOUR COUNTRY? BULLSHIT, more like draining your country. no offence to you personally SG, but this is the stupid shit that pisses me off. i always hear** oh are poor solders, they work so hard etc etc** you guys don't work any harder than your average pre school teacher. army, marines, navy, etc. I know it best, I'm around 3 marines(supposed to be the toughest right?) every week, and they say it's a cake walk.

I have never felt so disrespected. How could you possibly say all that bullshit? It's not like we were on a joy cruise. I was working 6 hours on 6 hours off. I never got more than 4 1/2 hours straight sleep. How about standing the mid watch from 2345 until 0630. That's a killer. We were practicing with the TR so they'd be more prepared on their cruise to the middle east. We did a ton of gunnery excercises testing to make sure all our guns worked. On our way back the captain just decided it would be a nice break for us to stop at the Bahamas. I just happen to have a cool Captain. We do work very hard underway. It's a tough schedule.....this was only 3 weeks....I can't even imagine what it's going to be like when it's 6 months. And what about the people with families........they have to be away from their spouses and children for 6 months.......half a year.....you're missing half a year of your childs life.......you may miss their first step or their first words.....they're first day of kindergarten. It's not a cake walk.

I just had the awesomest time of my life. It sucked at first cuz I got really sea sick and threw up 13 times n 6 hours while I was on watch, but after that it was all gravy.
We went down to the Caribbean and did some war games with the Teddy Roosevelt battle group. We played the bad guys. Then we did some missile shoots and stuff. On the weekends we would stop out in the caribbean somewhere and have swim call. It was off the coast of St. Croix. We just parked and could jump off the fantail into the water and swim and go knee boarding and stuff. Or we could just sunbathe and stuff. They played music and had free soda and chips. It was a lot of fun! Then we pulled in to Puerto Rico for one night to drop off some stuff. We just stayed for the night and went to the club on base. Then we went to Nassau, Bahamas for 3 beautiful days. It was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome!! We went to the beach every day. It was by this big casino resort called Atlantis. Tons of fun. Very expensive however. People were buying rounds of drinks left and right. We went to a bar called the Drop Off the first night....everyone was there so it was a lot of fun. The last two nights we went to Senor Frogs and I had the time of my life. I can't wait to go back some day!!

IS drop off still around?

I used to cruise around when I was working for Carnival Cruise Lines-6 years ago- and I had the chance to see all the Caribbean Islands for free....Atlantis , in Paradise Island is the biggest resort in Caribbean and one of the nicest place in Nassau, Bahamas!

St.Thomas is nice but I liked the most St.Lucia which is one of the nicest, unspoiled islands in the Caraibbean...Martinica is nice too...
