If you don't believe Jesus Christ was/is God...

Jesus called himself the Son of Man , the son of man - the prophecy of the messiah in Daniel 7?

I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
>>>What??? The word of god said "ye are gods"? And we know that "the scripture cannot be broken (wrong)" so what gives? Surely Jesus must have quoted that out of context! Oh wait, he's perfect. WTF?<<<

37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
>>>"In me"? "In him"? Like christians are called to be "in Christ Jesus" (ie. Romans 8:1, et.al.)? But that doesn't mean every christian is actually Jesus, thus actually god, does it? Or does it? I mean Jesus himself quoted scripture that said "Ye are gods" (Psalm 82:6, Isaiah 41:23). I guess, according to the bible, we are gods. Maybe the mormons DO have it right!!!

I'm going to need some time on this one. I have a response in my head but I want to be sure I'm typing what I'm trying to say and not jacking it up because I'm in a hurry.

Jesus is referring to Psalm 82:6

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations

He is using that as the basis to the claim that he is making that he is one w/ God, to tell them generally that its not blasphemous for the divine to be called divine. He can't be accused of blasphemy. Jesus is saying, "The scripture says in Psalms 82 that God calls judges gods based on divine commission". NOt only is he saying he has a divine commission like the judges, but he is an Executive commission higher than the judges, the works that they had seen and the words Jesus had spoken, they should know that who He is, the one who had been prophesied and that He and His Father God are one and God can't be accused of blasphemy. The Jews don't believe him not because they are misunderstanding him, but because they don't have any faith.

I have to go for now, I have to wrap up my work for today and Abby and I are going to carve pumpkins lol

Were you in Branson? There's a cult-like dood down there who looks like Jesus but he's a Mexican with long hair.

WTF? lol really?

No, I don't live near Branson, I live in KC. Yes, Branson is in Missouri but I don't visit Branson often. Maybe I'll take Abby there one day and take her to Silver Dollar City
