a tornado ripped through my neighborhood and passed within 200 yards of my house
I got aftermath pics but can't upload them until power returns to the house

Wow! I am glad you are ok. Did you have any property damage from the wind?

I was taking a hot bath and listening to daytona when the sirens went off
and then I heard the "freight train" sound and got out
looked out the window and all kinds of debris was circling in the air
"shit that muthafucker is right damn here"

Where you at now? Somewhere on battery power?
the funeral home has power
I was out driving around the neighborhood 5 minutes after and there's dozen's of homes tore up
I talked to a few people and noone's hurt
and we haven't had any fatality calls to the funeral home

I won't mind dying naked as long as I'm boning a big booty babe at the moment.

as I said I was thinking I'm not going to die naked and hustled on some sweat clothes
put the two cats in the dryer
and was thinking of making a run for it in the porsche
and then it got quiet and I was thinking well I'm in the eye now
but that was it

I didn't really have time to get scared,my brain was in high gear sorting my options

I always wondered why people choose to live where tornadoes can happen. I'm talking about the real thick of tornado alley. Same with earthquakes. Why would you live drectly on a fault line? Why would anyone live in Baltimore MD? I'm just wondering why with so many places on the planet to live, people choose to move to or remain living in such dangerous places?

Thats pretty wild. You got a basement?

I'd have headed for the basement for sure.
no basement
I had nowhere really to go
half the house is already a mess because I'm tiling the kitchen and all the major appliances are sitting in another room

of course the power was out
the power went out and I got out of the tub and it was virtually on top of me
within 30 seconds

I knew there was a tornado warning for the county and had checked the weather channel
but you know how that ist
so it's coming through the county
maybe 1 in 1000 it comes near me

hurricanes,earthquakes,tornados,blizzards
where are you left to live?

Well blizzards you dont have to worry about unless youre severely underprepared when you know you live in a spot that can literally bury you inside for days.

But the worst areas are the areas in Cali with the earthquakes, the tornado belt and the southeast/ Gulf Coast states, if not for the hurricanes then for the stone age culture that looms. So you have a decent chunk of northeast, southwest, mountain time zone, and northwest.

I had one large chunk of roof about 3'X4' land in my yard
and a green doughnut intertube
but a 100 yards away it's a mess

as i said soon after I was out in the truck snapping pictures
I gave a ride to some guy to his house so he could retrieve a tool to turn off the gas in an obliterated house

about an hour after some people were already patching holes in their roofs with tarp while they still had daylight

everybody in the neighborhood was helping each other
moving personal items out of houses etc. etc.

my neighborhood is fairly evenly mixed between black, white and asian (there's a hyundai plant here)
it's nice to see the cooperativeness when misfortune visits a neighborhood

Eh i can't help but think that kindness like that is real only on the surface for many people. When you need something, suddenly the walls come right down. Then it's right back to normal.

One thing East coasters don't get is I feared tornadoes in GA way more than I fear earthquakes living in Cali.

Do you know if those homes were built to Miami-Dade code?
mine was Miami-Dodge
had 4 vehicles out front too since my garage is full of new appliances and remodeling equipment
